Jumanji 3 Release Date Moves to Christmas to Avoid Dune 3 and Avengers: Doomsday Clash

Jumanji 3 Release Date Moves to Christmas to Avoid Dune 3 and Avengers: Doomsday Clash

Sony has pushed Jumanji 3 from December 11, 2026 to Christmas Day, December 25, 2026, moving the movie out of the way of the December 18 showdown between Dune: Part Three and Avengers: Doomsday. Variety first reported the date change Tuesday.

That release shift makes a lot of sense. Instead of getting squeezed between two major event movies, Jumanji 3 now lands a week later and can play as the holiday family option over Christmas.

It is also familiar territory for the franchise, as Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle famously opened in December 2017 and legged out into a huge box office run through the holidays.

What Is Jumanji 3 About?

Sony still hasn’t released an official plot synopsis, so the story remains under wraps. What is known is that the movie is a direct follow-up to Jumanji: The Next Level, with Jake Kasdan back in the director’s chair.

The previous movie ended by teasing that the dangers of Jumanji were spilling into the real world, which gives the new installment a pretty obvious setup even if Sony hasn’t confirmed the exact storyline yet. Reports have also described this new film as the final entry in the current Jumanji run.
