Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Dune: Part Three along with a new batch of images and posters.
The studio teased the movie with the line, “Experience the epic conclusion. Dune: Part Three only in theaters December 18,” while also promoting the film as Filmed for IMAX.
The trailer gives fans their first real look at the next chapter in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune saga, which adapts Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah and serves as the final film in Villeneuve’s trilogy.

Dune: Part Three adapts Dune Messiah
Dune: Part Three is based on Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert and continues the story following the events of the first two films.
Warner Bros. is billing the movie as the epic conclusion to Villeneuve’s trilogy, which means this will likely wrap up Paul Atreides’ arc on the big screen under Villeneuve’s direction.
Villeneuve directed the movie and also wrote the screenplay with Brian K. Vaughan.

Trailer and new images released
Along with the trailer, Warner Bros. also released a new batch of images and posters after yesterday’s first look materials.
That gives fans a bigger preview of the movie’s scale, its returning cast, and the darker direction of the story as Paul Atreides faces the fallout from everything set in motion in the earlier films.
The trailer release also follows Timothée Chalamet sharing the first look image on Instagram and confirming that the footage was on the way.

Returning cast and new additions
Dune: Part Three stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, and Isaach De Bankolé.
The cast also includes Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, and Javier Bardem.
Newcomers Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke are also featured in the film.
With that lineup, the movie looks set to bring back key players from across the franchise while also expanding the story with important new characters from Dune Messiah.

Release date set for December
Dune: Part Three opens only in theaters on December 18.
Warner Bros. is again pushing the IMAX experience in a big way, which is no surprise given how much the first two films leaned into large-format visuals and event-level presentation.
Now that the first trailer is finally online, fans have their best look yet at how Villeneuve plans to close out his Dune trilogy.
