A new Marvel rumor claims Danny Rand may finally be returning to the MCU.
Cryptic HD on X says he has heard that Finn Jones’ Iron Fist will either appear or at least be teased in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
While nothing has been confirmed by Marvel Studios, the rumor has sparked new speculation that the Netflix-era Defenders characters are continuing to make their way back into the MCU.
Iron Fist Could Be Teased In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
According to Cryptic, Danny Rand will return or at least be teased in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.
The rumor doesn’t necessarily mean Finn Jones will physically appear in the season, but the character could be referenced as part of the larger street-level MCU story being built around Daredevil and the Defenders.
The idea could be to set up a bigger role for the character later on, rather than immediately bringing him back in full.
Iron Fist has been absent from the MCU since the Netflix shows ended, though the character last appeared alongside Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones in The Defenders crossover series.
That shared history makes Daredevil: Born Again a natural place to reintroduce the character.
Marvel Bringing Back The Defenders
Marvel has already started bringing the Netflix characters back into the MCU.
Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and now leads Daredevil: Born Again. Krysten Ritter is also confirmed to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming season, and Luke Cage actor Mike Colter has previously hinted that conversations have taken place about his return as well.
Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum has also said the studio is open to bringing back more characters from the original Netflix shows, including the other Defenders.
That includes Danny Rand, whose Iron Fist series ran for two seasons before being canceled.
Heroes For Hire Could Be In Marvel’s Plans
Previous reports have suggested Marvel Studios is exploring the return of several Defenders characters, including Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones.
One possibility frequently mentioned by fans is the classic Heroes for Hire team-up between Luke Cage and Danny Rand.
In the comics and the Netflix shows, the two characters often worked together as partners, which was briefly explored in Luke Cage Season 2 when Iron Fist appeared and teamed up with Cage. This is something we were told years ago was supposed to happen.
If the rumors about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 are accurate, Marvel could be laying the groundwork for that duo to return to the MCU.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to premiere on Disney+ in March 24. Vincent D’Onofrio also returns as Wilson Fisk, aka, Kingpin.
