The Tomb Raider series at Amazon Prime Video starring Sophie Turner as Lara Croft from Phoebe Waller-Bridge is moving forward, after all.
It was previously reported the series was canceled, but now it’s confirmed to be happening, albeit with the addition of two new producers.

The details include Sophie Turner is confirmed to star, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge is creator, writer, executive producer.
She’s joined by Lgbqt+ writer Chad Hodge (Good Behavior, Wayward Pines, Netflix’s Single All the Way) as executive producer and co-showrunner, alongside Jonathan Van Tulleken (Shōgun, Dope Thief, Amazon’s upcoming Blade Runner 2099) as director and executive producer.
Tomb Raider starts filming on January 19.

Tomb Raider retooled
According to Deadline, the series went through various writers room that ended up with the scripts not getting approved, which fits with previous reports. Hodge was then brought onboard as a consultant, which led to his appointment as executive-producer and showrunner.
