Those sweating that Marvel’s Agatha may be a major bomb can breathe a temporary(?) sight of relief as following last week’s season record low, the Nielsen ratings bounce back with episode 6.
However, the big question is whether or not the ratings jump actually has to do with fans interested in watching Agatha — or did fans tune in because the episode happens to feature a certain X-Men actor?
What are the Agatha ratings?
- Episodes 1 & 2: 426
- Episode 3: 365
- Episode 4: ??? – did not appear on Nielsen charts
- Episode 5: 310
- Episode 6: 410
Agatha or X-Men interest?
The Nielsen ratings went from a low of 310 with episode 5, but spiked to 410 with episode 6.
Episode 6 happens to feature the surprise cameo of Evan Peters as Ralph Bohner from the WandaVision series, and who of course played the fan-favorite character, Quicksilver, in the X-Men movies.
We can guess that word got out and more fans tuned in to watch Evan Peters returning as Ralph Bohner.
Ratings still a lot lower than WandaVision
That said, the Agatha ratings are still a lot lower than WandaVision, whose own episode 6 scored a 596 rating. The first episode with Evan Peters, episode 5, also had a 589 rating. WandaVision would then continue to see big jumps with its remaining three episodes (see below).
It will be interesting to see what happens with Agatha‘s final three episodes. Will there be a similar ratings jump like WandaVision? Will there be any carry over from the Evan Peters cameo? Or will they dip back to the previous level of low ratings from episodes three and four?
WandaVision ratings:
- Episode 1 & 2: 434
- Episode 3: 376
- Episode 4: 431
- Episode 5: 589
- Episode 6: 596
- Episode 7: 720
- Episode 8: 732
- Episode 9: 924
