What is Tron: Ares about?
Tron: Ares doesn’t have an official release date but we see Leto reveals it will be released sometime in 2025. Disney has untitled release dates in 2025 set for April 11, May 9, July 2, and August 15, and worth a mention is that Marvel’s Blade is on the slate for a Nov. 7 release which some think may be pushed back to 2026.
The film is directed by Joachim Rønning (Disney’s Maleficient, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), with a screenplay by Jesse Wigutow and produced by Jared Leto, Justin Springer and Emma Ludbrook. The film stars Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins and Gillian Anderson.
“I’m excited to be part of the TRON franchise and bring this new film to fans around the world,” director Joachim Rønning said in a statement. TRON: Ares builds upon the legacy of cutting-edge design, technology and storytelling. Now more than ever, it feels like the right time to return to the Grid.”
The official synopsis states: TRON: Ares follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.
