Zack Snyder To Direct New Superman

Zack Snyder To Direct New Superman

Zack Snyder has been named the director on the new Superman movie; the Hollywood Reporter broke the news earlier.

Snyder, no stranger to comic book adaptions as he directed such hits as 300 and Watchmen, said: "I defintely expressed my love for the character and interest in seeing him treated right."

The as-of-yet unamed Superman movie is being produced by Christopher Nolan for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, which should begin filming by 2011 to retain copyrights, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

According to CBR, the film "will come from a screenplay by frequent Nolan collaborator David S. Goyer and will apparently feature the villain General Zod."

Zack Snyder is also the director behind the recent animated movie Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole and the soon to be released Suckerpunch.
