Nintendo has debuted gameplay footage for the highly anticipated new open-world Zelda game for the Wii U due out in 2015.

The video below features Zelda lead producer Eiji Aonuma playing the game with original Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto adding commentary (which is translated).

Worth noting is they confirmed the game will indeed be coming out next year.

The footage shows just how expansive the game is as the Wii U gamepad is being used for the map, with it said it would take 5 minutes in real time to walk end-to-end to a demonstrated destination. In addition, the game is created so that anything you can see in the game can be reached, and Link’s horse will even avoid running into trees. Link can also jump off the horse to attack and use his bow in slo-mo. The environment also features edible fruit as well as insects and animals.

Miyamoto also confirms a new Star Fox Wii U game, which will be released prior to the new Zelda.

More news on the open-world Zelda game will probably be released at next year’s E3 Expo in June.
