[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5040:]]Earlier news – or rumors – surfaced that Man of Steel director Zack Snyder will be directing a new Star Wars movie that was said to be a spinoff from the upcoming trilogy and based on Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai.
It was said Snyder would be starting on the film after Disney started production on Episode VII.
However, we now learn that appears to be false as THR as it from Zack Snyder’s reps that is not the case.
While he is super flattered because he is a huge fan, Zack is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars. He is currently in post on his two films, Man of Steel and 300: Battle of Artemisia.”
That means no Episode VII, VIII or IX, and no offshoot movies, the rep confirms.
In our previous article we suggested that Snyder taking on Star Wars might be the reason he turned down the Justice League movie.
Who knows? Maybe there is – pardon the pun – still hope.
Curiously enough, both the above films would be over by the time Snyder would be due to take on Star Wars.
The Man of Steel flies into theaters June 14, 2013 in 3D, with the sequel to 300 on August 2, 2013.
