With the director now set for X-Men: Days of Future Past, the sequel to X-Men: First Class, Fox Studios has moved the Bryan Singer directed movie into pre-production.
Originally slated to begin filming this January, filming on X-Men: Days of Future Past gets bumped back a bit to April of 2013 according to writer/producer Simon Kinberg, reports the Coventry Telegraph.
The movie was originally going to have Matthew Vaughn return to direct, but Vaughn has been involved with Mark Millar’s Secret Service, which wants to get underway rather quickly. In addition, Vaughn has been rumored to direct the new Star Wars Episode VII movie as well. He’s still said to be on the movie as a producer.
Speaking of Mark Millar, Fox Studios new creative consultant on their Marvel movies, he recently described X-Men: Days of Future Past as “X-Men meets The Terminator” and that it had “everything in one film” including super heroes, time travel and robots.
X-Men: Days of Future Past has a July 19th, 2014 release date.
