The new X-Men aren’t just signed for X-Men.
Puck News’ Matt Belloni says on Friday’s mailbag episode of The Town on YouTube that the contracts for Marvel’s new mutant cast go well beyond the May 5, 2028 team-up movie, and he names where the first crossover lands.
“I do know from the deals that these X-Men stars like Sadie Sink and all of them have signed that these deals include appearances in X-Men movies and other Marvel movies,” Belloni said.
Storm Pops Up In Black Panther 3
Belloni got specific: “You’ll see like Storm pop up in Black Panther 3,” he said, adding the other X-Men are in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars “obviously, but also probably in Ghost Rider.”
That’s Maya Boyd’s Storm crossing into Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther 3, which hits December 2028, a comics-faithful move given Ororo’s history with T’Challa and Wakanda.

The full lineup, as covered in our X-Men (2028) guide: Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister, with filming starting at Pinewood at the end of summer.

Sadie Sink first got introduced as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
And the rest of the mutants get introduced in Avengers: Doomsday this December and Secret Wars in 2027, headline their own movie in May 2028, then keep showing up, possibly in Ghost Rider in July 2028, and then Storm with Black Panther 3 in December 2028.
“They’re using the power of the MCU to incorporate the X-Men and make their team-up that much more impactful when it comes in ’28, which is very smart,” Belloni said.
Still A Thin Slate — By Design
Belloni also noted the schedule is “still relatively thin” compared to Marvel’s three-a-year heyday, with only one Marvel movie next year.
He called it a ramp-up, expecting at least two a year after 2028, “assuming it all works.”
The mutant math keeps changing elsewhere on the board, too, with the Beast seat still open as rumors shift to Peter Claffey.
If the deals really do lock this cast across the whole slate, expect the pop-ups to start before the reboot’s cameras even cool.
