Disney has hired writer Michael Arndt to pen the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII movie in 2015, and now it’s being said two more writers are being looked at for Episodes VIII and IX.

The original writer of both Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Lawrence Kasdan, is said to be one of the names, with the other being Simon Kinberg.

Kasdan also wrote Raiders of the Lost Ark for George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, with Kinberg known for X-Men: First Class, Sherlock Holmes and the upcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

Deadline says Disney is mum on the subject, but wouldn’t be surprised if the two are already signed.

Update: THR is reporting the deal is already done, and that the pair have signed on as producers, “The pair will write either Episode VIII or Episode IX — their exact division of responsibilities is yet to be determined — and also will come aboard to produce the films. “
