Will Superman and Wonder Woman Be A Couple In The Man of Steel or Justice League Movie?

There is a rather interesting development in the world of DC Comics regarding Superman and Wonder Woman — and that development is that Superman and Wonder Woman will be a couple as of next week’s Justice League #12.

Now, why is that interesting?

Previously legendary comic book artist George Perez stated the Man of Steel movie execs had a hand in the direction of the comics, which is the reason he departed the Superman comic book.

And it’s also been said that Wonder Woman will be appearing in the new Superman movieMan of Steel.

Cosmic Book News was also the first to tell you that the Man of Steel would be spearheading a DC Comics shared movie universe.

Regarding Superman and Wonder Woman being together in the DC Comics, this doesn’t look to be a one-and-done type of thing, but long lasting.

DC Comics Justice League scribe and chief creative officer, Geoff Johns, stated to EW:

This is no one-issue stunt: “This is the new status quo,” says Johns, adding that the relationship will have a seismic impact on all the heroes and villains in the DC universe.

Last September DC Comics rebooted their comic book universe, and with that, the relationship between Superman and Lois Lane was booted as well.

We also see that the Superman in DC Comics has the same look as Henry Cavill, though a costume illustrator has gone on record stating it wasn’t planned that way (oh, really?).

So with the new comic book direction, will a new movie direction follow? Or for that matter, are the comics already following the movies (per Mr. Perez, above)?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:2649:]]While we know Amy Adams is Lois Lane in the Man of Steel, could it be that a change – “a new status quo” – is in order toward the end of the movie? Interestingly enough, there was an earlier report that Lois Lane was not going to be in the Man of Steel.

“Justice League” #12 becomes available August 29th at your local comic book shop.
