At an annual meeting for Time Warner, it’s stated that announcements regarding the future of the DC movies will be coming soon.
DC Comics President Diane Nelson responded to questioning regarding WB’s strategy, and the fact that it is lagging behind Disney and Marvel, by stating Warner Bros. is “trying to differentiate from Marvel” adding their strategy “will become apparent soon.”
Nelson also said DC is aiming to create properties that will appeal to young girls, which is a priority for them.
WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara is said to have acknowledged that DC has not done as well as Marvel, but he promised that shareholders will be “happy and proud” down the road (via LA Times).
Batman Vs. Superman comes out in 2016 followed by Justice League (both directed by Zack Snyder), with it thought character specific movies will then be launched, which is different than the “Marvel Way” of building up to a big event movie.
