Warner Bros. Being Sketchy About The Dark Knight Rises Prologue Audio Change

[page_title]

the dark knight risesEarlier we reported that a new version of The Dark Knight Rises Prologue was given to IMAX theaters with the audio altered so that Bane would sound clearer.

According to the report, Warner Bros. changed the background noise, not Bane’s actual voice.

However, now some news has come about that seems to contradict those statements.

Dave Itzkoff, a writer for the NYTimes, tweeted the following:

“Warner Bros. says ‘no truth’ to reports of new Dark Knight Rises prologue trailers going out with fixed Bane audio.”

Worth a mention is that the original article didn’t state that Bane’s audio was getting fixed or altered in anyway – just the background noise. I brought this up to Mr. Itzkoff in a tweet of my own. He replied back with the following:

“so far they aren’t explaining what they mean, or what they dispute in those reports. maybe more shoes to drop? don’t know.”

However, The Film Stage sent off a tweet of their own to Itzkoff, which seems to corroborate that the Prologue has been changed:

“viewers have seen both and reporting that it is indeed a much cleaner version. Looks like they just don’t want to own up.”

Until we either here more from WB, or further reports from movie goers are made public about a better sounding Prologue, it’s anybody’s guess. One thing does seem certain though, and that is Bane’s voice is a problem.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra’s al Ghul.
