TV Review: Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (Season 2, Episode 8)

After the shocker from last week, fans are one up on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as the animated toon Avengers face the doubt the comic book Avengers did a few years ago.

The question: Who can you trust?

The accusations flew fast and furious Sunday morning after Tony Stark met with super-spy Nick Fury and they came to the (correct but — well) conclusion that there was an inside leak and that one of the Assemblers’ number was a member of the morphing alien race of — Skrulls!

Ol’ Shellhead, in Stark’s no-nonsense way, confronts his fellow Avengers with the news and, by so doing, plants a seed of doubt in the mind of each (it takes a little longer for the Wasp, natch, lol). The Skrulls could not have done it better themselves!

While I have not been satisfied with all the episodes of this Disney XD animated fare, of late it has really given cosmic seekers like us some great things to digest, like a version of Captain Mar-Vell of the Kree, a DnA-scripted episode where the Avengers meet the Guardians of the Galaxy (including Peter Quill, Rocket Raccoon and Groot – “I am Groot!”) and Skrulls this week.

Add that to last year’s Ronan and Kang appearances and we have quite a Marvel Cosmic collection.

Just too bad the comic book boys (Are you reading this, Mr. Breevort?) don’t know how to follow suit. (Punisher in Space? Really? Really??!!)
