New Flash Details: Wally West, Bart Allen, Crisis On Infinite Earths & Reverse Flash

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19650:]]

We get some details and teases for upcoming episodes of The Flash as a new trailer and question-and-answer was held earlier tonight at the PaleyFest.

The new trailer showed a couple of interesting things: Eddie Thawne was shown shooting two police officers, with speculation that time travel may play a factor in his sudden turn, which hints at Thawne being Reverse Flash. Another scene revealed Laurel Lance’s trip to Central City where she reveals her identity to The Flash crew.

Update: The Flash footage is now online.

Details mentioned in the QnA:

It’s said Harrison Wells is just trying to get home, and he has a conversation with Joe West in an upcoming episode surrounding the mystery of Joe’s wife, which will be further explored in subsequent seasons.

It’s also said that Joe and Iris West will talk about what happened to Ma West, and it’s hoped The Flash can tackle both Wally West and Bart Allen in Season 2.

It’s also hinted that Iris will discover Barry’s secret, which was said – if it happens – will change everything.

We’ll learn who is taking care of the metahuman prisoners in STAR Labs, and it will be a while before Caitlin Snow and Cisco show off any of their own powers.

The DC Comics event “Crisis On Infinite Earth” will be used some time in the future.

Check out images from the event below.

“The Flash” airs Tuesdays at 8pm ET on the CW.

Six Villains Revealed For Daredevil

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19612:]]

With the Daredevil Netflix series almost here, Marvel has announced six new supporting characters and actors that will serve as villains for the series.

From the comics, Rob Morgan (“Person of Interest,” “Believe”) will play Turk Barrett, a smalltime criminal in Hell’s Kitchen, while Matt Gerald (“Avatar,” “Dexter”) will play Melvin Potter, a machinist caught between a rock and a hard place.

Siding with Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) are Peter Shinkoda (“Falling Skies,” “Hawaii 5-0”) as Nobu, a Japanese businessman with an agenda all his own; Wai Ching Ho (“Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Blue Bloods”) as Madame Gao, a powerful woman running her own trade; and Nikolai Nikolaeff (“Camp,” “Sea Patrol”) and Gideon Emery (“Grimm,” “How to Train Your Dragon 2”) as Vladimir and Anatoly, two Russian brothers looking to forge new names for themselves in America.

“With an already tremendous cast, these six actors help to fully flesh out Matt Murdock’s world and give life to Hell’s Kitchen,” said Executive Producer/Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb. “We’ve been blessed to work with such amazing actors on this series to create a truly remarkable first season.”

“It’s an honor to be working with such a talented and diverse group of artists who vividly bring these characters to life,” said Executive Producer and Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight. “The challenge in bringing ‘villains’ to the screen is always in portraying them as three-dimensional characters. Our actors exceeded all expectations in this regard, crafting deeply flawed, wonderfully human antagonists.”

Daredevil premiers with all 13 episodes on April 10th.

Daredevil stars Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Vincent D’Onofrio (WilsonFisk), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Scott Glenn (Stick), Bob Gunton (Leland Owlsley), Toby Leonard Moore (Wesley), Vondie Curtis Hall (Ben Urich) and Ayelet Zurer (Vanessa Marianna).

Synopsis:

Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero “Daredevil” in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

SyFy Passes On Full Series For Ascension

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19608:]]

SyFy recently debuted the 6-hour event mini-series, Ascension, with hopes to turn it into a full series.

However, that’s not happening.

Deadline reports SyFy has decided to pass on an Ascension series.

“We were very happy with Ascension as an event series, but with so much high profile development in the works, we have decided not to pursue a full series,” Syfy said in a statement.

It’s guessed the ratings weren’t exactly where SyFy executives wanted the Ascension event series to be at, which obviously means no full series.

Ascension followed a covert U.S. space mission launched in the 1960’s that sent hundreds of men, women and children on a century-long voyage aboard the starship Ascension to populate a new world.  Half way into their journey, as they approached the point of no return, the mysterious murder of a young woman caused the ship’s population to question the true nature of their mission.

The series starred Brandon P. Bell, Brian Van Holt, and Tricia Helfer.

No Batman or Harley Quinn For Arrow

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19573:]]

Exectutive producer and showrunner of Arrow, Marc Guggenheim, recently attended the Long Beach Comics Expo in Long Beach, CA.

Guggenheim was part of a panel where he discussed Arrow and working with DC.

Before we dive into Arrow, Guggenheim commented on the 2011 Green Lantern movie noting that he didn’t have control over the film (which explains a lot).

“With ‘Green Lantern,’ we [he and Co-Showrunner Greg Berlanti] really learned the lesson of control. We didn’t have it on ‘Green Lantern.’ It got taken out of our hands at a certain point, and stuff happened. The difference between features and TV is that on TV, as a writer, you’re writing for your life. Every eight business days, there’s a new script due, and as a showrunner, it all goes through your pen. Sometimes what’s getting shot is literally your first draft. At the same time, it’s getting shot.”

Now on to Arrow, as the series has a darker tone many have compared it to Batman; however, it’s learned the Caped Crusader won’t be appearing any time soon.

We have a great relationship with DC. We sort of navigate with DC which characters in the toy box we have access to. Obviously, ‘Gotham’ has Batman covered… At the same time, DC [recognizes [Green] Arrow doesn’t have a fantastic rogues gallery — we’ve got Count Vertigo, and we’ve used him twice. They know that we need access to other characters, but it’s a give and take. The bottom line is, Batman won’t appear on “Arrow” before he appears on “Gotham,” and “they’ve got about twenty more years to go.”

Guggenheim also answered a fan question about seeing more from Harley Quinn, who was more of an Easter Egg in a Suicide Squad episode of Arrow.

Between “Gotham” and Margot Robbie playing her in the upcoming Suicide Squad film, he stated that the closest they could come is the “wink and a nod” from last season.

A superhero team spinoff is in the works, which is presently untitled, but Guggenheim offers it isn’t called “The Brave and the Bold.”

It’s also learned that DC has plans for Ted Kord, the second blue beetle, as Arrow wanted to use the character prior to Brandon Routh’s Atom.

Aked if there’s a list of things that can and can’t be used (besides Batman), Guggenheim explained that twice a year they sit down with DC, and each has a list of characters they’d like to use or be used. Katana was a character DC suggested they use. Ray Palmer was originally supposed to be Ted Kord, but DC said, “No, we have plans for that character. How about Ray Palmer?”

Lucy Lawless Joins Evil Dead TV Series

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19569:]]

Lucy Lawless is coming to the Starz Evil Dead TV series starring opposite Bruce Campell.

Lawless, known for Xena, Battlestar Galactica and Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., will be playing the character Ruby, described as a mysterious figure who is myopic in her quest to hunt down the source of the recent Evil outbreaks. The only problem is she believes that Ash (Campell) is the cause of it all.

Lucy Lawless also previously had a role on Starz’s Spartacus.

The new Evil Dead TV series sees Bruce Campbell reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead.  When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal.  Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

Lawless also joins Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo and Jill Marie Jones.

The series is expected to debut later this year, with Sam Raimi directing the first episode.

First Look At Walking Dead Spinoff; Gets Two Season Order

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19565:]]Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane

AMC has released the first image still from The Walking Dead spinoff in addition to announcing the new series will have at least two seasons.

The as-of-yet untitled series will be set in LA focusing on new characters and storylines featuring six one-hour episodes and premiering on AMC this Summer, with the second season due out in 2016.

The Walking Dead spinoff stars Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey.

“We take incredibly seriously the notion of building a satisfying companion series to the number one show on television. From the beginning of ‘The Walking Dead’ on AMC, we’ve been asked questions about what was going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse, and what it looked like as the world really did ‘turn.’ Through this new series, we’re going to find out,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president. “Robert Kirkman, Dave Erickson and their writing team, along with an incomparable set of producers, cast and crew have created something remarkable and clearly distinct. We respectfully follow the request of Monty Python as we bring out (the latest of) our Dead.”

“We feel empowered by this two-season commitment, a serious show of faith from our network partner AMC,” Kirkman said. “I personally take it as a sign that they believe, like we do, that we’ve accomplished our goal of developing something original that can pay tribute to the original show and expand the world I created while at the same time having something new to say with this story. I’m very grateful that we now have the opportunity to tell this amazing story and show the fans that we really haven’t scratched the surface yet when it comes to ‘The Walking Dead.’”

“This vote of confidence from our partners at AMC is gratifying, to say the least,” Erickson said. “We’ve been blessed with amazing writers and a stellar cast – and we can’t wait to build this apocalyptic drama over the next two seasons and hopefully beyond.”
