Disney is moving ahead with the sequel to Tron Legacy, “Tron 3,” as they are in talks with Jesse Wigutow to write the script, and director Joseph Kosinski is back on board as well.
THR reports that “Tron 3″ has become a priority for Disney, and while the film wasn’t as well-received as hoped, it did do well at the box office, bringing in around $400 million worldwide.
The previous producer on Tron Legacy, Justin Springer, is also back, and it’s said that no plot details are known at this time.
Wigutow is known for Eragon and penned The Crow remake for Relativity and is associated with other Disney movies including Peter and the Starcatchers and worked on Parallel as well.
Tron Legacy star Garrett Hedlund is also said to be a contender for the lead role in Disney and Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy movie as Peter Quill, Star-Lord.
