The first images from Amazon’s Treasure Island have arrived, and David Oyelowo’s Long John Silver comes complete with a parrot on his shoulder.
Deadline debuted seven first-look photos from the six-part MGM+ and Paramount+ series.
Oyelowo’s Silver is pictured on deck in a wide-brimmed hat, knife at his side and the bird perched on his shoulder.
The images also reveal Hayley Atwell as Bess Hawkins, Tom Sweet as Jim Hawkins, Tomer Capone as Billy Bones, and Jack Huston as Aaron Graham.
Treasure Island Premieres October 11 On MGM+
Treasure Island premieres October 11 on MGM+ in the U.S., with new episodes dropping weekly through November 15.
The series arrives a day later, October 12, on Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland, running through November 16.
Oyelowo’s casting as the famous pirate was first announced back in March.
The show reimagines Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel. Jim Hawkins and his mother, Bess, get their hands on Captain Flint’s treasure map and find themselves in a violent race for the fortune.
Three More Join The Treasure Island Cast
The first look also confirms three new cast members: Craige Els (Andor) as Mr. Arrow, Tristan Sturrock (Poldark) as Captain Smollett, and Neil Pendleton (Outlander) as Mr. Cameron.
Robert Murphy (Vera, Shetland) created the series, with Jeremy Lovering, William McGregor, and Paul Walker directing.
Playground, the company behind Wolf Hall, produces in association with Fifth Season.
