It’s learned in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly that Transformers: Age Of Extinction is the first of a new trilogy, and Michael Bay is unsure if he will be doing the other two movies.

Bay says, “It’s the first of a new trilogy. I’m not necessarily sure that I’m doing [the others], but that’s what it’s meant for.”

We’ve heard this before from Michael Bay who stated he wasn’t coming back for Transformers 4 only to come to an agreement with Paramount and get on board.

It’s speculated that Transformers 5 might be released as early as 2017 as a leaked promotional document from Hasbro revealed a logo and potential 2017 release date.

Will Bay be back?

Transformers: Age Of Extinction has a June 27, 2014 release directed by Michael Bay starring Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, T.J. Miller, Stanley Tucci, Titus Welliver and Kelsey Grammar.
