Total Recall (2012): Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel and more cast

The Total Recall reboot gets officially underway as shooting begins north of the border (about an hour and half from yours truely), in Toronto, Ontario on Monday.

I slew of actors have also been cast including Kate Beckinsale as Lori, opposite Colin Farrell’s lead role as Doug Quaid; Jessica Biel as the other female lead, Melina; Bill Nighy as Quatto; Ethan Hawke in an unknown role, and Bryan Cranston as the villain, Vilos Cohaagen.

This version of the movie ditches the Martian aspect, and keeps things on earth where it centers around “something that takes us from one side of the planet to another,” according to Producer Neil Moritz.

Maybe some kind of teleportation tech?

The reboot is said to be more influenced by the Total Recall story by Philip K. Dick than its predecessor, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I haven’t read the story by Philip K. Dick, maybe a CBN’er can fill us in below.

Total Recall is due in theaters August 3rd, 2012 directed by Len Wiseman and starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel.
