British actor Tom Hardy recently appeared on the Alan Carr: Chatty Man, which airs in the UK, and spoke on playing Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.

Hardy informs us that he is signed on to do any sequels to Inception, but he doesn’t “know” if there will be any.

At about the 7 minute mark, Hardy discusses The Dark Knight Rises.

Apparently, this version of Bane isn’t going to be your Batman & Robin’s Bane!

Thank you!

Here is what Hardy said on his version of Bane being so menacing:

“[Have] you seen Joel Schumacher‘s Batman & Robin? Doesn’t look very menacing does he?”

“Christopher Nolan will revisit the territory in time; I wouldn’t go by that – at all.”

“That’s a lot of weight to put on and I’ve got to start shooting in May. I’ve got to go up to about 13 or 14 stone. I’m 12 and a bit now, so I only have three months to do that.”

For American audiences, there is 14 lbs in 1 stone, so Hardy is looking to put on almost 30lbs of muscle in 2-3 months! Maybe he should get on whatever program Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson put Hugh Jackman on for Wolverine 2!

What about donning the Bane mask? Hardy makes it sound like this isn’t likely and tells us, “Only if I feel like it!”

The more I hear about this movie, the better it gets. Hardy will make a great Bane!

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christan Bale as Batman.
