Tom Hardy Says ‘Call Spider-Man’ At MobLand Season 2 Premiere

Tom Hardy walked the red carpet at the MobLand Season 2 world premiere in London’s Leicester Square on Sept. 10, and ExtraTV opened with a fun one: if Hardy ever got kidnapped, which of his castmates would he call for help?

His answer was none of them.

“Oh, God. I don’t think there’s anyone in the cast that could help you with that,” Hardy said. “We’re all actors.”

Then came the name-drop.

“No need to call. Call Spider-Man,” Hardy said. “You need to call someone who really knows what they’re doing.”

He added, “I try not to get kidnapped. I think prevention is probably better.”

The ExtraTV clip is making the rounds, with over 400K views on X in its first night.

Hardy did give one castmate a shout, though not for a rescue.

“I’ve got a real soft spot for Paddy,” he said of Paddy Considine, who plays Kevin Harrigan. “If I’m having a wobble about work and I want to run a question about something I’ve got a puzzle on, I’ll go to Paddy, because I love the way he thinks.”

Venom Never Got His Spider-Man

The Spider-Man line lands different coming from Hardy.

He spent three movies as Eddie Brock in Sony’s Venom trilogy, which wrapped up with Venom: The Last Dance in 2024.

The one thing those movies never delivered was Spider-Man himself.

His Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credit scene dropped Eddie into the MCU and left a piece of the symbiote behind on a bar counter. Nothing ever came of it. At least not yet.

And Sony’s Spider-Man world has been busy lately without him. Amazon canceled Spider-Noir after one season, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse arrives in 2027, and Spider-Man 5 still has no script or writers room, with Sony wanting Destin Daniel Cretton back after he shoots Naruto and just signed on to Hawaii 5-O.

So if Harry Da Souza ever needs Spider-Man, he’s going to be on hold for a while.

Hardy Reacts To Helen Mirren Having His Back

ExtraTV also brought up Helen Mirren, who publicly backed Hardy’s return during the behind-the-scenes drama and, per the interviewer, has called him “absolutely remarkable.”

“It’s very kind of her, but I love that. She’s my friend,” Hardy said. “It’s been an interesting few months.”

Hardy then turned it back around on Mirren and her performance as Maeve Harrigan.

“You must never judge a book by its cover,” he continued. “Helen’s got extraordinary range. It’s lovely to see her let the devil out and have fun. She’s amazing at it.”

Asked if Maeve gets worse in Season 2, Hardy said, “That’s part of the job. She’s supposed to push the envelope.”

Hardy also credited the scripts for Harry, saying the character is “entirely on the page” and that he just tries “not to bump into the furniture.”

That’s him praising the writing of Jez Butterworth, the same executive producer he reportedly clashed with during the Season 2 shoot before the two sides patched things up.

MobLand Season 2 Premiere Info

MobLand Season 2 premieres Sept. 18 on Paramount+, with the 10-episode season rolling out weekly through Nov. 20.

The Harrigans are on the brink of civil war as rivals move in on the family’s fractured North London empire, with Hardy’s Harry Da Souza the only thing holding it together.

Season 3 is already a lock.

Paramount+ made the renewal official on Sept. 3 with Hardy, Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan all confirmed to return, announcing it with the line “The Harrigans aren’t going anywhere.”

Hardy kept his version of the news simple on the carpet: “We always want more, don’t we? Season three is all signed up.”

As for how he decompresses from playing London’s busiest fixer, Hardy said he just trains at the gym and nothing else.

“I do enjoy breathing in between jobs.”
