With the news that has hit the past couple of days pertaining to Ben Affleck directing and possibly starring in the Justice League movie, a bit of news also surfaces that Cosmic Book News first told you about back in June.
While Deadline has contradicted the earlier Variety report, calling it “bullshit” about Affleck directing Justice League, Deadline reports David Yates (Harry Potter) was offered the director’s chair, but it seems Yates has his sights set on Tarzan.
Our source at DC Entertainment first told us that Justice League was “Yates’ to lose” on June 30th.
And we were also told Christopher Nolan was wanted for the job as well, but Nolan has since come out and stated he is done with super heroes.
Back in June, our source also told us that a director would be named within 3 months along with the producers.
Cosmic Book News was also the first one to let it be known that the new Superman movie, the Man of Steel, would be spearheading a DC Shared Universe, which has since been verified by the Hollywood Reporter. We’ve also been told Henry Cavill will star as Superman in the Justice League movie.
And regarding a Batman reboot, we’ve been told it will feature a Batman in his second year of being a superhero.
