Deadpool Highest Grossing X-Men Movie Of All Time

Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool movie is now the highest grossing X-Men movie of all time, having recently passed X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

As it stands, Deadpool is currently at $750 million; X-Men: Days Of Future Past finished at $747.8 million.

The numbers for Deadpool aren’t too shabby especially considering Fox didn’t want to greenlight an R-rated superhero flick in the first place. Only when the Deadpool test footage was intentionally leaked did Fox finally agree to go ahead with Reynolds’ and director Tim Miller’s vision.

Deadpool has about a $355 million gross in the U.S., with an international gross of about $395 million, on a $50 million budget.

The success of Deadpool also looks to further spawn additional R-rated superhero movies with it said Hugh Jackman’s final Wolverine movie will be rated as such as well.

Deadpool 2 is also on the way with Ryan Reynolds returning and will feature Cable.

The Deadpool Blu-Ray is now available to pre-order.

Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Disney Continues Cancelling X-Men & Fantastic Four Merchandise

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20743:]]

It’s been stated Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter isn’t happy that Fox Studios owns the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four, so much so that Permlutter has ordered the cancellation of the comics and merchandise.

As Rob Liefeld previously pointed out, there was no merchandise for X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

The Fantastic Four comic has been cancelled, and Wolverine has been killed off.

There is even Marvel Comics killing off the Fantastic Four actors.

Marvel/Disney, under what is said to be a mandate by billionaire Perlmutter, has also cancelled planned Fantastic Four posters and removed Fox Studios-owned characters from t-shirts.

Now the latest is confirmed to be the cancellation of both X-Men and Fantastic Four statues from XM Studios, which were underway with sculptures already designed.

Bleeding Cool points out XM Studios updated their Facebook page with the following:

Folks, it’s been a sad day for us… due to reasons we aren’t at liberty to disclose, we have been asked to put a hard stop to all X-Men characters for now. That means Cable can’t be released, and neither can the awesome Sentinel Diorama which we’ve all been so looking forward to. Still, we continue to have faith that this isn’t an indefinite red light forever and you can have our promise we will be back to producing these dream pieces once the coast is clear – no matter how long it takes!

And:

No Fantastic 4 too… same issue

Also, check out the original Secret Wars cover t-shirts that have been changed:

X-Men: Days Of Future Past Rogue Cut Will Be Own Film; Gets Summer 2015 Release

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18554:]]

When Bryan Singer edited the X-Men: Days Of Future Past movie, he was forced to cut some really cool footage out of the movie.

It’s since been learned a “Rogue Cut” version of the film will be made, which will be its own movie and will have a Blu-Ray release the Summer of 2015 featuring a Rogue rescue scene as well as never-before-seen footage.

Fox Home Entertainment EVP of marketing communications, James Finn, told fans on Twitter the news (via X-Men Films) noting the Rogue Cut will not feature the regular version as it’s a “distinct film” with “distinct extras” and is complimentary to the X-Men: Days Of Future Past Blu-Ray, “but not repetitive.”

Writer and producer Simon Kinberg previously described the Rogue seen as follows:

“Then I thought that if her power was winding down, they needed something stronger or someone who could take over her power. This came from a conversation with Matthew, which was about no-one having the same power as her but then realising there was someone who could take her power. I got chills. Rogue could be the McGuffin of that mission. They’d have to get Rogue out of some dark scary place, and that’s what happens. It’s a really nice sequence, and it’ll end up on Blu-ray some way down the line.

“But it does not service the main story. I thought it would increase the urgency and the stakes of the plot in the future, but it actually does the opposite, because it makes you feel like there is an answer out there. You think once Rogue gets here, we’ll have an unlimited amount of time. The ticking clock that we’d established with Kitty getting wounded and losing her powers… well, Rogue would show up and press stop on the clock. So for all of those narrative reasons, there was this ten-minute subplot that had to go.”
