Additionally, WBCP, DCE and Mattel will be launching a DC Super Hero Girls App in March, allowing fans the opportunity to watch the animated shorts, play games, interact and connect with the DC Super Hero Girls world – taking the DC Super Hero Girls whenever and wherever they go.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Force Friday Target Midnight Launch Report

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Spot

Tonight at midnight marked the start of Force Friday, the day when the Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise went officially on sale.

I arrived at a local Target around 11:30pm to find the store doors already open greeted by displays of The First Order Stormtroopers, a Tie Fighter and Chewbacca.

I proceeded to the toy area where I found the section roped off with a Target employee not letting anyone near the merchandise. I was allowed to snap a few pics, but not able to get too close. There was a second section in the back where they keep the seasonal merchandise that featured additional Star Wars products as well; there I found a group of Target employees ready to leap into action.

So to the end of the line I went, where my hand was stamped with a red-colored Target logo (not sure why, no one checked) and given a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Chewbacca plush (maybe 48 inches tall or so). All in all, I would say there were around 200-300 people waiting in line by the time midnight came around.

It took only about 12 minutes past midnight to get my first look at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise. I started in the seasonal section, which features Star Wars T-shirts, Halloween costumes and various items. I managed to nab a Target exclusive Kylo Ren Pop! Vinyl figure, which went pretty fast as only two were left. I grabbed a Kylo Renn lightsaber (cheap one), and then overheard a Target employee being asked about the Black figures. Uh oh. Yep. Target was already out of stock on those. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens Black figures were the fastest item to go. I would probably say in 15 minutes they were all gone.

There was a second line to get to the toy aisles, which was again roped off, and Target was only letting a few people in at a time. While I waited, I overheard some fans getting excited over the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game. Apparently, one of the guys wanted to buy five of them, but Target limited one per purchase. They remarked about people not knowing what the item was — like it was some secret power of The Force — with one guy worried he wouldn’t be able to get one. I managed to grab a box and told the guy where he could find it.

I picked up some other items, which you can check out below. Target also gave customers a cool Star Wars: The Force Awakens BB-8 tote bag, and the cashier at the register scanned the Target Star Wars coupons, so you don’t have to worry about having your own copies.

I also stopped by Toys R’ Us on my way home, but similar to Target, they were sold out of the Black Series figures as well. Toys R Us did give away a Stormtrooper First Order LEGO piece.

One thing I noticed just about everywhere, is that there is no merchandise from Star Wars: The Force Awakens featuring any of the original characters. Maybe closer to the movie’s release?

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has a December 18, 2015 release directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer.

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.

PS4 Available At GameStop & Walmart: Forget eBay & CraigsList

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:12629:]]

If you are trying to hunt down a PS4 for the holidays, you might want to check your local GameStop and Walmart.

In my area, both of those stores have received ample shipments of new PS4s this week.

I’ve been told Walmart received around 30 of them, and GameStop received their first batch since Black Friday.

I’m also told both Walmart and GameStop get daily (or so) shipments, with Walmart in the AM and GameStop in the afternoon.

For some reason, Target seems to be left out of the loop as I was told they get PS4s shipped via FedEx sparingly – like four or so. A Target employee did tell me that they had enough of XBox One.

Again, this is just in my area (Western NY), so ask around.

There was also an earlier report that stated Best Buy would have enough to go around, but it sounded like they were getting their PS4 shipments almost at the last minute, which is sort of a risk if you definitely want one.

I’ve also been following the eBay and CraigsList prices for the PS4, and I found it’s quite ridiculous. Obviously everyone wants to make sure a PS4 is under the tree, but some scalpers are selling them for obscene amounts – like $1000. Thanksfully, I haven’t seen anyone bid that high. I’ve also noticed that the price on eBay for a PS4 has come down this week, most likely due to Sony making more available at local stores. Last night a PS4 went for $505, which is low compared to the average price of around $570-$600. The PS4 retails for $399.

Some Scrooges on eBay have also been trying to jack up the shipping prices. And then there are those pretending to sell PS4 for charity or because they are needy. However, they sell like five of them with the same text in the post, which is a dead giveaway (and I report everyone one of them).

My advice before going to eBay or Craiglist for a PS4 is to stop at your local stores and ask when they get shipments in. Also, I have found Facebook to be a valuable asset, so much so that friends living in Florida were helping friends living here trying to aquire a system.

PS4 seems to be the hottest gift going this year.

Now I just gotta hunt down a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Secret Sewer Lair Playset…

Let us know your PS4 local availability in the comments below.

With Target’s exclusive deal with Warner Bros. for Justice League merchandise comes the following commercial featuring animated New 52 versions of Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Cyborg.

It’s previously been reported that WB is prepping retailers and consumers for the Justice League movie through all the products be released.

Call of Duty Ghosts Said To Have November 5th Release Date For PS3 & XBox 360

Last month saw details on the next Call of Duty game leak online with “Ghosts.”

Now an advertisement from Target has apparently given us the release date for Call of Duty Ghosts with November 5, 2013.

It was also previously thought that Call of Duty Ghosts would only be for next-gen systems, but we see from the ad below that it states for the PS3 and XBox 360.

It could very well be that the ad is just a mock up i.e. not final, but as this seems to be a Target promotion for other PS3 and XBox 360 games, it seems likely that Call of Duty Ghosts will be available on all systems.

The previous leaked details for Call of Duty Ghosts included a story where the game is set in the future, but something causes the people to use the weapons of the past.

The environments are also said to be more destructive and interactive, in addition to more character movement capabilities.

The Walking Dead Graphic Novels Now Available At Target

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4928:]]

With the success of AMC’s The Walking Dead television show, Robert Kirkman has gone mainstream, and now we see that more than ever with Target selling the popular Image Comics graphic novel in store.

Numerous issues are available online, but now you can head on over to your local Target to pick up The Walking Dead in trade paperback form.

Prices range from $7.99-$11.99 and include the more popular storylines from the comic.

Robert Kirkman created The Walking Dead ten years ago, a black and white comic book that bucked industry trends with higher sales each subsequent month. In 2010, the TV show debuted on AMC causing the popularity to skyrocket even further, with the subsequent video game achieving $40 million in sales and named the best video game of the year in the Spike TV VGA Awards.

Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic book centers on the survivors of a zombie apocalypse, focusing more on the human aspect and relationships than the zombies that roam about.

The Walking Dead is currently in its third season on AMC and also has a new video game coming out from Activision, with a second series sequel planned from TellTale games as well.
