Bradley Cooper Spoils Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Villain & Star-Lord’s Father? (Video)

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22861:]]

Update: James Gunn says Cooper didn’t reveal anything.

Whoops?! Did Bradley Cooper just spoil the big villain of Guardians of the Galaxy as well as the identity of Star-Lord’s father?

Check out the video below where Cooper seems to say (or at least think) that Thanos will be the big bad of Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but that’s not all as Cooper also seems to say (or at least think again) that Thanos is also the father of Star-Lord.

It is possible that Cooper may have mixed up Star-Lord and Ronan, as Cooper references the throne scene from the movie, which saw Thanos talking with Ronan — not Star-Lord.

Cooper may actually have thought Thanos was Ronan’s father, but regardless, at least it does seem he did reveal Thanos as the villain of the sequel.

Interestingly enough, regarding Thanos potentially being the father of Star-Lord, Gunn did cut the love scenes* out of the first movie between Star-Lord and Gamora (even though they were in the trailers). I do recall Gunn stating he didn’t want Guardians to be too similar to Star Wars, and if Thanos is indeed Star-Lord’s father, we now know the reason Gunn cut the Star-Lord/Gamora relationship from the movie is because it’s similar to the Luke/Leia and Darth Vader relationship (Star-Lord and Gamora would be brother and sister/Luke and Leia kissed).

*Correct me if I’m wrong, but if I am recalling correctly, Star-Lord and Gamora kissed in a trailer as well as checked each other out, which didn’t make it into the final cut of the movie (or even the Blu-Ray deleted scenes).

Here is some of the text from the interview with Cooper:

Cooper: Josh Brolin’s the villain, though. Or he is the main villain, no? He was in the first one. He played what’s his name’s dad. You know who I’m talking about? The Dark-Lord? The main guy…

Interviewer: We don’t know who his dad is.

Cooper: Oh… [laughter]

No, no, you see him. The guy who turns around and talks to him.

Chris Pratt Talks Star-Lord Vs. Captain America

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20949:]]

Chris Pratt plays Star-Lord, a member of Marvel’s cosmic team of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Chris Evans plays Captain America, the goody two-shoes of Earth’s Mightiest Avengers.

Earlier this year saw the two duke it out on Twitter over the Super Bowl, where Captain America’s Patriots were victorious.

Now while promoting Jurassic World, Chris Pratt is asked by CBR who would win between Star-Lord and Captain America.

Oh, man. Hopefully, you’ll find out one day. Steve Rogers would kick the shit out of Peter Quill in a fair fight, but I don’t think Quill and the Guardians fight fair. I would put my money on Quill. If it was a straight UFC match, Captain America wins 100 out of 100 times. But, when you have Rocket Raccoon, who has your back, and he can take apart an air conditioner and turn it into a nuclear weapon, you have an ace in the hole.

It’s possible we actually may one day get to see that fight between Star-Lord and Captain America on the big screen as Thanos comes into play in the two part The Avengers: Infinity War movies, which may feature the Guardians of the Galaxy. Perhaps Marvel Cosmic and Marvel street-level won’t get along right away before they combine forces to take on the Mad Titan.

Dave Bautista, who plays Drax, also previously stated that Drax could beat up the Hulk and Thor, and Zoe Saldana, who plays Gamora, said the Guardians could kick the Avengers ass as well.

So, fanboys, who wins? Guardians? Or The Avengers?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20849:]]

James Gunn recently let it be known that he completed the first draft of the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 script.

In the video below, Pratt states he knows “everything” about Guardians of the Galaxy 2 when mention is made of Star-Lord’s father, and Pratt also says he has talked with Gunn about the music for Awesome Mix Vol. 2 and continues with his thoughts on the story.

“His pitch and his ideas legitimately put tears in my eyes,” Pratt said. “It is so good.”

Pratt also offered Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is “so big” and that Marvel felt it was perfect. Check out more in the video below.

“He’s a charming motherf–ker!” Humphries said, laughing. “He’s a down-to-Earth individual. Everyone has a friend like Peter Quill. He’s cocky, he’s arrogant, but he’s always got your back.

Peter sees himself as a legend because he can fly fast, and shoot fast, and flirt fast,” Humphries said, “But what really makes someone a legend are things buried in yourself that you didn’t know you had.”

On Kitty Pryde and Star-Lord:

“You can’t get that more long distance than the Earth to the edge of the galaxy,” Humphries said, laughing. “They have this two-way holographic phone, and get to know each other across the stars, and see where this leads them. There’s this heat on both sides, but we’re going to see how their personalities actually mesh.”

No Accent For Rocket Raccoon In Guardians of the Galaxy? Toy May Reveal Voice Of Bradley Cooper

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:13798:]]

With the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer rumored to be only days away, coming out of the 2014 Toy Fair we get an electronic talking Rocket Raccoon toy that just may use the actual voice of Bradley Cooper.

There is also a toy for Star-Lord, and it is noted in the video below that it is using the voice of Chris Pratt, but nothing is mentioned for Rocket Raccoon.

We’re assuming as one is authentic, the other could be as well; so that just might be Bradley Cooper.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:13799:]]

Worth a mention is that the Rocket Raccoon figure does not have an accent, so it’s possible that since Cooper did the actual voice in post-production that the figure is using a generic voice (Cooper previously mentioned an accent). Rocket Raccoon uses an English accent in the TV shows and video games as the character is inspired from the Beatles song “Rocky Raccoon” as well as having been written by the English writing team of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning.

Perhaps we’ll find out when the trailer hits (rumored for Tuesday).

Update: Looks like director James Gunn mentioned on Twitter that it’s not Bradley Cooper’s voice; however, no mention made regarding the accent.

We also get some cool ‘80s music and some gun noises to go with Star-Lord!

The electronic Rocket Raccoon sounds just as cool.

Check out video of movie phrases featuring Chris Pratt as Star-Lord and possibly Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon:

Chris Pratt Talks Guardians of the Galaxy Casting & Costumes (Video)

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:13649:]]

In the following video, Chris Pratt talks casting for Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie as well as mentions some info about the costumes.

Pratt remarks how he felt he wasn’t fit enough for the role of Star-Lord as the actor considered himself fat. However, as soon as he met director James Gunn and did the screen test, he knew the role was meant to be. Pratt has since gone on to shed all the weight contributing his weight loss in part to stopping drinking beer.

Pratt also remarks a bit about the Guardians of the Galaxy costumes, and hints that we might at one point see the team come together (perhaps in a “Right Stuff” moment), but one thing Gunn is big on is not to take themselves too seriously.

Pratt does describe Guardians of the Galaxy as an epic space opera as well.

Chris Pratt Says Guardians of the Galaxy Will Be The Greatest Movie of the 21st Century

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:10589:]]

Chris Pratt, playing Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy, is also busy shooting Parks and Recreation for NBC.

While participating in an interview with IGN for the show, Pratt talks about the Guardians movie in a rather fun interview.

Pratt mentions the recent footage that was revealed at Comic-Con, and even though it was put together by James Gunn after only 12 days of shooting, says it’s pretty accurate.

We’re working really hard and I’m in a bit of a daze, but I just can’t wait for people to see what we’re doing out there. I think that footage they showed at Comic-Con is very accurate to the movie that we’re making. I thought that footage was pretty badass.

Pratt goes on to talk about the tone and theme of the movie; that it’s something major they need to accomplish and offers Guardians of the Galaxy will be the greatest movie of the century.

I don’t know what to say about it other than it might be…Oh! It’s the greatest movie of the 21st century! That’s what I’ll say. It’ll be the Citizen Kane of movies other than Citizen Kane.

Chris Pratt continues with mention of the stellar cast and working on the movie.

You know, the novelty of it wears off almost immediately, and it’s overtaken by the idea that we’ve got a ton of f**king work to do. We’re just getting after it. But every once in awhile, you have to stop and look around and take a moment and be like, “Oh my God, this is a moment in time that this may be the greatest film set I’ll ever be on.” So you want to enjoy that.

Here is Chris Pratt at Comic-Con as well:

On the Guardians of the Galaxy:

They are an unlikely band. It’s pure circumstance that brings them all together throughout the course of the movie.

On Rocket Raccoon:

Rocket has been genetically and mechanically altered, he’s an experiment from one part of the galaxy.

On Groot:

Groot is a species that happens to look like trees look, and is quite communicative if you can understand the different inflections in the way he says, ‘I am Groot.’

Star-Lord’s Criminal Record Revealed In Guardians of the Galaxy Movie; Connects To 4-D Man

Marvel recently debuted the first Guardians of the Galaxy footage at the recent Comic-Con and D23 Expo giving fans a first look at Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

The footage revealed that apparently the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy have been picked up by the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps.

In the clip, they are referred to as a bunch of “a-holes,” as they call themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Now we see that a rabid cosmic fan has gone and screen-grabbed the following image of Chris Pratt from the footage revealing Peter Quill’s criminal record.

The image also reveals a small spoiler of sorts regarding Michael Rooker’s character, Yondu. It was previously rumored that Yondu was to be a villain in the movie, with the character described as a space pirate. The image below seems to suggest that Star-Lord and Yondu could be friends.

We also see that Star-Lord has convictions (we’re guessing “misunderstandings”) for fraud, assault, drunkenness, and one count of a sex crime for illegally manipulating a Gramosian Duchess.

In the Marvel Comics, the Gramosians are from the planet Gramos, the same planet where the Thor and Avengers villain, Mercurio the 4-D Man, originates.
