Kingsman 2 Title, Details & Concept Art Released

The sequel to the 2014 sleeper hit Kingsman: The Secret Service movie now has an official title with concept art released.

The latest issue of Empire Magazine has a featured article with director Matthew Vaughn, which lets it be known the title is: Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

No specifics in regards to what “The Golden Circle” may be were released, but perhaps as The Kingsman is a secret society, it’s possible The Golden Circle could be some sort of upper member echelon.

The concept art features Poppyland, which is the lair of the villain, played by Julianne Moore.

The second piece of concept art features the headquarters of the Kingsman’s American counterparts, The Statesman.

The third is of the Kingsman’s own headquarters destroyed.

The fourth reveals the Kingsman cab can go underwater.

Matthew Vaughn revealed Kingsman: The Golden Circle will feature scenes including a skiing sequence, a barroom brawl, robot dogs, a one-armed henchmen, and he says the characters will be attacked by something Vaughn describes as “a massive f—ing frankfurter.”

Vaughn also adds:

I didn’t know if I wanted to direct this or not. I was worried about the villain. Spy films are only as good as their villains. Then one morning I woke up with the whole storyline in place, and a new villain plot.

You try not to read what people want, but they do want another church sequence. I have no reason for another massacre to happen. But I have other sequences you’ve never seen before.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle has a June 10, 2017 release also starring Taron Egerton as Eggsy, Halle Berry as a member of The Statesman (rumored leader) and Mark Strong as Merlin.

THR reports Fox Studios wants Kingsman 2 to film this April, even though there is not a script and Taron Egerton may have a scheduling conflict.

It’s noted Fox has first dibs on Egerton, so that would mean as long as the script is ready, Kingsman 2 would kick off in the Spring.

Matthew Vaughn Working On Kick-Ass Prequel (Video)

In a Q&A interview with Yahoo, Matthew Vaughn lets it be known he is working on a prequel movie for Kick-Ass along with creator Mark Millar.

Here is the blurb:

“I’m not happily done with the franchise. Kick-Ass is a really important film to me. I’m really proud of it, and we would like to dip our toe back into it. We are working on an idea for a prequel of how did Hit Girl and Big Daddy become Hit Girl and Big Daddy. It’s quite a fun idea we’ve come up with. If we make that, hopefully that will be the sorbet for the people that didn’t like Kick-Ass 2 and then we can go off and make Kick-Ass 3. I think we’ve got to do this prequel to regain the love that we had with Kick-Ass.

Vaughn also lets it be known he was interested in doing a comedic space movie at one time, but Guardians of the Galaxy beat him to it.

“Never say never… The answer is maybe sci-fi…”

Matthew Vaughn is currently working on the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Taron Egerton Would Play The New Wolverine

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20912:]]

With Hugh Jackman days as Wolverine nearing an end, Fox Studios must have some idea of where they want to take the character as well as the X-Men franchise.

It’s speculated some sort of soft reboot may be the result of X-Men: Apocalypse as Bryan Singer has already cast younger actors in the roles of Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, Storm and Cyclops. In addition, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Michael Fassbender have let it be known they aren’t returning.

So who then for Wolverine? How about Kingsman: The Secret Service‘s Taron Egerton? The 25-year-old actor turned heads in the Matthew Vaughn-directed movie that went on to make over $400 million at the box office and has spawned a sequel.

Screen Rant caught up with Egerton, who stated he would consider playing Wolverine.

[Laughs] I am a huge X-Men fan! My feeling about that is… I don’t know if I’m quite grizzly enough. My facial hair is still very thin and patchy. I feel someone who plays Wolverine potentially needs testosterone in abundance. Yeah, I’d love to have a go at it, but I don’t know. [Laughs] I don’t know. I was with Hugh the day that he announced his retirement from that role. I did joke about that very thing with him. But the phone hasn’t rang yet, my friend, so I don’t know.

Matthew Vaughn Says People Are Tired Of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Superhero Movies

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18604:]]

Matthew Vaughn, director of Stardust, Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class and the upcoming Kingsman: The Secret Service, thinks people are tired of dark superhero movies and even points to Marvel’s success with Guardians of the Galaxy as an example.

While speaking with SFX Magazine, Vaughn said, “People want fun and escapism at the moment. Look at the success of Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Vaughn continued with specific mention of the Christopher Nolan style of movies, which includes The Dark Knight Trilogy as well as the recent new Superman reboot Man of Steel that spearheaded the WB shared movie universe with Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League.

“I think Nolan kick-started a very dark, bleak style of superhero escapism, and I think people have had enough of it,” Vaughn said.

Vaughn then went on to talk about Kingsman: The Secret Service, which seems a bit more light-hearted as initially the studio thought it something akin to Austin Powers.

“The studio was like, ‘What is this — Austin Powers?’ It was a balancing act, but I think we pulled it off,” Vaughn said. “It’s not a comedy, but it’s full of laughs. It’s got everything. It’s what we did with Kick-Ass — it’s a proper movie, but we’re allowed to have a bit more fun with it. Its aim was to be entertaining but not silly.”

Kingsman: The Secret Service has a February 13, 2015 release starring Colin Firth, Michael CaineTaron Egerton and Samuel L. Jackson.
