Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 Gets 2017 Release Date

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:16450:]]

Disney has given Pirates of the Caribbean 5 a new July 7, 2017 release date.

The film has seen its release date change from both a Summer 2015 release and a Summer 2016 release.

The reason for the changes has been explained as making sure the script was right.

It’s previously been said the title for the fifth movie will be “Dead Men Tell No Tales,” and Johnny Depp is expected back as well.

Presently, the movie has competition from Fantastic Four 2 on July 14, and Despicable Me 3 on June 30th of 2017.

The last Pirates movie, “On Stranger Tides,” from 2011, made just over $1 billion at the box office.

Disney Moves Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Release Date Away From Batman/Superman & Ant-Man

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:10953:]]

Disney is continuing to shuffle their 2015 release schedule as yesterday it was learned the Ant-Man movie was moved up four months to an end of July release, and now we learn Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 gets delayed until possibly 2016.

Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 was originally slated for a July 10, 2015 release, which would have seen Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill’s Batman Vs. Superman follow the next week.

Now we see that’s no longer the case, and a July release for Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 now won’t interfere with Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man which is now slated for a July 31, 2015 release.

While it is unknown if the Ant-Man or Batman Vs. Superman release dates have anything to do with the later release date for Pirates of the Caribbean 5, according to The Hollywood Reporter the push back is a result of delays involving a later anticipated production start as well as apparent script issues.

The official title for Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is “Dead Men Tell No Tales,” with Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg on as directors. It’s not confirmed if Johnny Depp will be reprising Captain Jack Sparrow, though THR’s report does list the actor as returning. Update: Numerous Hollywood trade sites report Depp is returning.

Disney also has yet to announce Star Wars: Episode VII with many thinking it will either have the usual May release or possibly even a December 2015 release or 2016.

2015 happens to be a busy movie year and also sees the Fantastic Four on March 6th, The Avengers 2 on May 1st, Terminator reboot on June 26th, possibly the Independence Day sequel in July, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 on November 20th, and Kung Fu Panda 3 on December 25th.
