Michael Douglas Says No Costume For Hank Pym In Ant-Man (Video)

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:17096:]]

The Ant-Man movie has started production, and now MTV catches up with Hank Pym himself, Michael Douglas.

In the following video, the 69-year-old actor admits he couldn’t much relate to the script, but says Marvel has an incredible track record.

He also comments on the CGI in the film stating there will obviously be something from an ant’s perspective compared to an adult size human.

Michael Douglas is then asked if he will don a superhero costume, with Douglas saying unfortunately no.

“The good thing is Paul Rudd is ripped. He’s been training and working out for this picture for a long time. He was so cut, that they had to soften his costume up, even with all the built-in six-packs and all of that. My costume will be hung up and Paul will be wearing it in good form.”

There is discussion between Pym (Douglas) and Lang (Rudd), with Pym telling him he wants a regular guy for Ant-Man.

Then it shows Ant-Man (Lang) on a rooftop who looks to be chased by full-sized people. Ant-Man jumps on ant and and looks terrified, with Pym guiding him through the helmet.  Lang is then having some trouble with the helmet and is shown inside some kind of tech. Marvel Studios Still Has To Cast The Young Hank Pym For Ant-Man

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:13141:]]

Today saw a couple developments in regards to the Edgar Wright Ant-Man Movie.

With the announcement that Michael Douglas is playing Hank Pym came confirmation that Paul Rudd is Scott Lang.

Then Wright posted an interesting Tweet referencing an interview from 2006 in which Wright basically gave the synopsis for Ant-Man.

His response in the interview offered there will be a prologue set in the 1960s where Hank Pym will be seen in action as Ant-Man.

Cinema Blend points out the obivious, which is there will be another younger actor playing Hank Pym and Ant-Man for the 1960s scene (assuming it’s still in the script).

Any guesses?

Ant-Man hits July 31, 2015.

Paul Rudd Set to Star in Marvel’s Ant-Man

The actor set to debut as Marvel’s newest big screen hero July 31, 2015! More

Marvel’s “Ant-Man” has found its hero in Paul Rudd, who will star in the new film from director Edgar Wright hitting theaters July 31, 2015!

The casting of Rudd represents the actor that Marvel had long ago identified as its first choice to play Ant-Man, continuing the studio’s desire to cast actors that bring several dimensions to its onscreen heroes.  The film’s plot is being kept under wraps.

“When Edgar Wright came to us with the idea of Paul Rudd, we felt a huge sense of relief because the first step in creating any Marvel Studiosfilm is finding the right star,” said Marvel’s Kevin Feige. “We knew early on that we had found the right person in Paul. When he not only agreed to do it but became as enthusiastic as any actor we’d ever met with about doing the work, we knew we’d found the right guy. We couldn’t be more excited for our audiences to see what he’s going to do to bring Ant-Man to life.”

Rudd brings a diverse background to the role having become one of the industry’s most known actors with a reputation for smart, funny and creative performances.  Rudd can currently be seen in “Anchor Man 2: The Legend Continues,” as well as past roles in “Anchorman,” “This Is 40,” “I Love You, Man,” “Role Models,” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “Our Idiot Brother,” “Knocked Up,” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” among numerous other films, television shows and primetime animation.

It’s noted that Rudd has appeared slimmer in recent interviews, which is said to be due to his physical training for Ant-Man.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was said to be a contender for Ant-Man, but is no longer with his involvement in Warner Bros. and DC’s Sandman movie.

Vin Diesel Still Not Confirmed For Guardians of the Galaxy Says Kevin Feige; Comments On Ant-Man Rumors

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:11828:]]

Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige and action hero star Vin Diesel seem to be playing a little game of cat and mouse as Diesel says he is going to play Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie while Feige on numerous occasions hasn’t confirmed the news as of yet.

The latest saw Vin Diesel on the set of Fast and Furious 7 where the actor was seen practicing using stilts in which he stated he is playing Groot, a “7-and-half foot tall tree.”

The Huffinton Post caught up with Kevin Feige, who at least offers this time that a casting announcement is close.

Yeah, I think it’s close. I think it’s close to being official for the Groot character. But, not 100 percent yet.

Two new names also popped up recently for Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man movie with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd. JGL recently denied the rumors, stating they were just that, and while Feige doesn’t straight out deny Joseph Gordon Levitt’s involvement, he offers it could be possible.

Well, sometimes it’s because we are legitimately talking, and sometimes it’s just because he’s a prominent actor out there now. And lots of rumors surround prominent actors.

Kevin Feige is just as enigmatic when it comes to the Paul Rudd Ant-Man movie rumor.

Well, nothing is true yet. I like Paul Rudd, too.

Guardians of the Galaxy hits August 1, 2014 directed by James Gunn. Ant-Man lands July 31, 2015.

Variety has it the two actors are the top contenders for the lead role, but also states a third could be a possibility.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been a hot commodity as of late in Hollywood having starred in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises as well as rumored for just about everything including the new Batman.
