Watch: Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension Trailer

The full trailer for Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, the last movie of the franchise, has been released.

The film has an October 23, 2015 release directed by Gregory Plotkin starring Nathan Brewer and Jay Hieron.

Previously released info about the plot (via USA Today) includes:

The Ghost Dimension will answer the bevy of questions at the core of the demonic mystery which have lingered throughout the series. Paranormal Activity 2 (2010), Paranormal Activity 3 (2011), Paranormal Activity 4 (2012) and offshoot Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014) left devoted fans demanding answers about the root of the modern-day hauntings and the mysterious demon Toby.

The Ghost Dimension, directed by Gregory Plotkin, follows a new family, the Fleeges — father Ryan (Chris J. Murray), mother Emily (Brit Shaw) and their young daughter Leila (Ivy George) — who move into a house and discover a video camera and a box of tapes in the garage.

When they look through the camera’s lens, they begin to see the paranormal activity happening around them — including the re-emergence of young Kristi and Katie.

“We couldn’t go just teasing,” says Blum. “All the questions that everyone has asked from the past Paranormal Activity films: What does Toby look like? What’s the backstory to the families? These questions have been teased out. Now they will be answered.”

Even Toby will be revealed after remaining unseen in previous films.

“We’ve done well without showing Toby, being able to create tensions and scares based on audiences’ imagination,” says producer Oren Peli. “But people are very curious.”

Paranormal Activity 5 Gets October 2013 Release Date

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:3631:]]

Prepare yourselves for not just one more Paranormal Activity movie — but two!

This past weekend saw Paranormal Activity 4 debut, and while it didn’t do as good as its predecessors, the fourth spooky found-footage film in the franchise still warranted enough for a Latino spinoff film as well as Paranormal Activity 5.

Reportedly, there is some kind of teaser featured in Paranormal Activity 4 that leads to the Latino spinoff film which is slated for Spring 2013. The Latino film will not feature any of the regular cast members from the previous Paranormal Activity films, but will feature the same demon.

Regarding Paranormal Activity 5, the fifth movie has been greenlit by Paramount for an October 2013 Halloween release with more details to come.

Paranormal Activity 4 grossed $30 million domestically this past weekend, a vast difference compared to its $52.6 million opening for Paranormal Activity 3 and $40.7 million for Paranormal Activity 2.

It could be that the story wasn’t up to par as it seemed more teenage-oriented or that movie goers are getting tired of the films; however, with a budget of only around $5 million, $30 million still isn’t a bad number.

In addition, international audiences love the Paranormal movies, so expect this to be around for the long haul by the sounds of things.

Movie Review: Paranormal Activity 2

The true test of all horror sequels is how well it connects to the previous films.  Loose and contrived connections result in a rapid de-saturation of the original story (see the Saw series).  Strong connections build and expand the story’s mythos (see The Ring films).  Traditionally, the horror genre has not been particularly successful at …
