Mel Gibson & Jodie Foster For The Avengers? Robert Downey Jr. As Iron Man Consultant?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:12871:]]

How about Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster assembling as part of a Marvel Studios movie?

Well, that’s was it being reported with friend Robert Downey Jr. at the helm attempting to get his friends into a Marvel movie.

Radar Online reports that Robert Downey Jr. is trying to use his pull to get both Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster in a movie, with it said preferably an Avengers movie.

The report states that Robert Downey Jr. tried to get Mel Gibson the role of the president in Iron Man 3.

It’s further said that Mel Gibson in any Marvel Studios movie seems unlikely because of Gibson’s previous drunk actions and remarks against Jews. Marvel is run by Ike Perlmutter, an Israeli-American businessman and one of Disney’s largest shareholders.

Foster, however, isn’t out of the picture as the report states she and Downey have remained friends throughout the years. It could also be added that Foster holds a lot of clout in Hollywood.

This isn’t the first time it’s been said that Robert Downey Jr. holds a lot of importance in Marvel Studios as reportedly when his fellow Avengers contracts were up for The Avengers 2, Downey Jr. backed them completely.

It’s also said Shane Black and Ashley Hamilton credit Robert Downey Jr. for Iron Man 3

The report also has details about Robert Downey Jr.’s Marvel contract in that when he is finished with Iron Man, he will stay on as a consultant.
