Godzilla 2 To Be Bigger & Better

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21679:]]

A big complaint of the 2014 Godzilla movie was that it only featured around 8 minutes of the King of the Monsters.

About a month ago saw word that fans’ complaints should be answered with the sequel, and now the writer on Godzilla 2 says more of the same.

Max Borenstein, who is also the executive producer and writer on the Minority Report TV series, told Collider that Godzilla 2 will be bigger and better.

“I’m writing it now, and it’s really going to be great,” Borenstein offered. “I don’t want to go off book and tell you anything that I’m not allowed to tell you. The response to the first film was really exciting, but now that that world is established, we can do bigger and even better things. We’re really stoked.”

Following completion of Star Wars, director Gareth Edwards is set to return for Godzilla 2 in which Borenstein says he hopes the two can get together and closely work on the sequel.

“Yeah, I hope. He’s making Star Wars right now, so he’s a little preoccupied, but yeah,” Borenstein said. “Gareth is amazing. It’s exciting to get to work with him again. One of the fun things about that experience is the same fun that it’s been on [Minority Report], where you really get to have your fingers in the pie.”

“Godzilla 2” has a June 8, 2018 release date.

Max Borenstein Confirmed For Godzilla 2018

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:17233:]]

Max Borenstein will be back to write the sequel to Godzilla.

Borenstein came on board Legendary’s Godzilla movie late in the game and did rewrites on previous scripts.

Hopefully, with Max Borenstein writing Godzilla 2 on his lonesome, the script will be better thought out and more improved.

The sequel will also feature Mothra, Rodan and King Gidorah, and hopefully it will also get more Godzilla action as the first film only provided about 8 minutes worth of Godzilla footage.

Max Borenstein is also writing the King Kong prequel for Legendary and Universal with Skull Island, which will star Tom Hiddleston.

Godzilla 2 has a June 8, 2018 release.

Godzilla 2014 netted close to $525 million worldwide.

He meets a detective haunted by her past who just may help him find a purpose to his gift.

Fox TV, Paramount and Amblin’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank are behind the project.

Joe Cornish Eyed For Skull Island King Kong Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:16587:]]

This past weekend’s Comic-Con saw Legendary Entertainment announce a new King Kong movie with Skull Island.

Now it’s learned Joe Cornish is being eyed to direct.

According to Deadline, Legendary has put an offer out to Cornish and are waiting to hear back. Joe Cornish co-wrote the Edgar Wright version of the Ant-Man movie and was behind the British alien invasion film, Attack The Block, which featured John Boyega.

It’s unknown if Cornish will accept the offer as it seems he has been turning down high-profile offers, including Star Trek 3.

The same report also mentions that Skull Island will be written by Max Borenstein, who recently wrote an updated script for the new Godzilla movie for Legendary.

Skull Island has a November 4, 2016 release.
