Watch: Martian Manhunter Revealed In Supergirl

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23137:]]

Check out the big reveal of tonight’s Supergirl, which is that Hank Henshaw is actually John Jones, aka J’onn J’onzz, aka Martian Manhunter, a founding member of the Justice League in DC Comics.

“It’s the secret of Supergirl: within the body of the series of Supergirl, there is a Martian Manhunter series rolling throughout it,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s the thing that makes us giggle the most.”

“He’s got such tremendous powers,” Executive producer Ali Adler said. “We really want to show off what he can do, and we’re definitely going to do that in upcoming episodes.”

“In episode 11, we have a visitor from another planet who is a white Martian,” David Harewood, the actor who plays Martian Manhunter said, with the article noting there will be a Mars flashback scene. “There are two Martian species, a green Martian species and a white Martian species. The white Martians are responsible for the death of the whole of the green Martians. There was a fire, and they burned them. We’ll get to see that, and it’s very emotional. Genocide, people being burned alive.”

The Martian Manhunter assumed the identiy of Hank Henshaw after Henshaw and Kara’s adoptive father, Jeremiah Danvers, tracked him to an island — after which only the Martian Manhunter in the guise of Henshaw returned.

“Supergirl” airs Mondays on CBS.

David Goyer Trashes Martian Manhunter and She-Hulk

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:15513:]]

The man that thinks it’s cool for Superman to snap necks happens to also think that the Martian Manhunter and She-Hulk really aren’t any good.

Goyer, writer of The Dark Knight movies and Man of Steel, recently took part in a podcast where he trashed the characters.

Here are the comments on She-Hulk:

She’s still pretty chunky. She was like Chyna from the WWE.

I have a theory about She-Hulk. Which was created by a man, right? And at the time in particular I think 95% of comic book readers were men and certainly almost all of the comic book writers were men. So the Hulk was this classic male power fantasy. It’s like, most of the people reading comic books were these people like me who were just these little kids getting the shit kicked out of them every day… And so then they created She-Huk, right? Who was still smart… I think She-Hulk is the chick that you could fuck if you were Hulk, you know what I’m saying? … She-Hulk was the extension of the male power fantasy. So it’s like if I’m going to be this geek who becomes the Hulk then let’s create a giant green porn star that only the Hulk could fuck.

On Martian Manhunter:

Well, he hasn’t been rebooted but he’s a mainstay in the Justice League. He can’t be fucking called the Martian Manhunter because that’s goofy. He can be called Manhunter… The whole deal with Martian Manhunter is he’s an alien living amongst us… So he comes down to Earth and decides, unlike Superman who already exists in the world now, that he’s just going to be a homicide detective… So instead of using super-powers and mind-reading and like, oh, I could figure out if the President’s lying or whatever, he just decides to disguise himself as a human homicide detective. Dare to dream!”

I would set it up like The Day After Tomorrow. We discover one of those Earth-like planets… So maybe like… we get the DNA code from that planet and then grow him in a petri dish here… He’s like in Area 51 or something and we’re just basically… doing biopsies on him. Then he gets out and he’s really angry and he fucks She-Hulk.

All this from the guy who also wrote the Superman story where Superman renounced his American citizenship.

So how is Justice League going to go, Dave?

Update: Creator of She-Hulk, Stan Lee has responded.

Now Jason Momoa Says He Will Do Batman Vs. Superman If Asked

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:13276:]]

Jason Momoa has been rumored for both Aquaman and the Martian Mahunter in Batman Vs. Superman, which we were first told will feature the Justice League.

Following the rumors of Momoa and Aquaman, the actor was quick to dismiss any involvement with the role and movie.

Now Yahoo reports Jason Momoa said he will do it if asked.

A reporter for Yahoo had dinner with Momoa with the topic of Aquaman brought up.

The report states there is no truth to the Aquman rumors, but says Jason Momoa would be happy to make it a reality if he were asked.

Recently, Momoa was said to be in negotiations for a role in Batman Vs. Superman for at least the second time. We were told not for Aquaman, but for Martian Manhunter.

“Batman Vs Superman” has a newly announced May 6, 2016 release also starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

Jason Momoa Says No For Aquaman In Batman Vs. Superman (Video)

Jason Momoa is rumored to be in negotiations for Batman Vs. Superman, with it said either Aquman or Martian Manhunter.

Speaking with MTV in the following interview, Momoa says it’s all just rumors and he is flattered.

We were just told Jason Momoa is up for Martian Manhunter and not Aquaman.

As Momoa is said to be in negotiations, he isn’t a part of the movie just yet; so technically he is correct.

Would Jason Momoa be a good fit for the Justice League?

Exclusive: Batman Vs. Superman Delayed Because Of Justice League; Updates On Momoa, Holloway & Luthor

Yesterday saw the news announced regarding the new release date for Batman Vs. Superman with May 6, 2016.

I contacted my trusted source at Warner Bros. for some information.

If you recall, the source first provided Cosmic Book News the information that Batman Vs. Superman will feature the Justice League back in mid-December, which was recently confirmed by Latino Review. It is the same source that provided us with the Bryan Cranston casting and Cranston’s subsequent change of mind.

I’m told the reason for the Batman Vs. Superman delay is because of the Justice League and not because of the reported injury to Ben Affleck. The injury to Affleck isn’t so bad that they would have to delay the movie to 2016. The reason they are taking the extra time is – as we previously told you – the final 15-20 minutes of Batman Vs. Superman is set to have every major hero, and they are STILL in the casting process and need time for that as well.

Every casting decision is considered major as the person chosen will be that character for multiple movies/appearances.

The source also said that Jason Momoa will not be Aquaman, but is a contender for Martian Manhunter. You will note that Jason Momoa is said to still be in negotiations by The Hollywood Reporter in their own report of the Batman Vs. Superman release delay.

Regarding Aquaman, Comic Book Movie has it correct that Josh Holloway is the current favorite for the role.

We’re also told casting for Lex Luthor is still up in the air.

“Batman Vs Superman” has a newly announced May 6, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
