Legendary just teased a brand new King Kong movie at Comic-Con as they revealed a teaser for Skull Island, which is the fictional island where Kong comes from.

The short teaser revealed:

An island is shown with various images of animals, including dinosaurs.

Narration can be heard stating it’s very existence is improbable; being alone in the wilderness has driven it mad; we have penetrated deeper and deeper into the heart of darkness…”

Then King Kong is shown beating his chest and roaring, with it said Skull Island is coming November 4, 2016.

Legendary & Thomas Tull Announce Trick ‘r Treat 2 (Video)

Right in time for Halloween, Legendary and Thomas Tull have announced Trick ‘r Treat 2, the sequel to the popular 2007 film.

Last night in Los Angeles, a screening of Trick ‘r Treat was held, which also happened to be director Michael Dougherty’s birthday.

Dougherty received a special birthday card which read “make a sequel.” The director then stated it wasn’t up to him and called out Legendary CEO Thomas Tull who was in the audience. Tull said, “I’m not saying no.”

“Alright. Let’s make Trick ‘r Treat 2,” laughed Doughtery. “That would be great.”

Then a new logo was shown on the big screen for Trick ‘r Treat 2.

“In Hollywood, it’s that easy,” added Bryan Singer, producer on the original.

Sorry: No Namor For Marvel Studios Says Kevin Feige; How About From Thomas Tull and Legendary?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:10468:]]

Well, there goes my pick for Vin Diesel, as Kevin Feige has let it be known that Marvel Studios does not own the rights to Namor.

While I was unsure of who owned the character, thinking Fox actually may have owned the rights to Namor as the Submariner is known as “the first mutant,” or that Marvel Studios did as there was speculation of a possible Namor appearance in The Avengers when it first became known a “Leviathan” creature was to be featured; it turns out both are not the case.

In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, when asked about Namor, Feige replied, “That’s at Universal.”

So now we know that Namor will not be popping up in any of the Marvel Studios movies.

However, obviously that doesn’t rule out Universal launching their own Namor movie, and what’s interesting, is that big time comic book fan Thomas Tull recently took his Legendary Entertainment to Universal having moved on from Warner Bros.

Tull produced and co-financed Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Triology as well as Man of Steel. Perhaps Tull and Legendary might give Namor a try on the big screen? And will they be able to do it before WB launches Aquaman?

I would also be curious to know what other Marvel properties (if any) go along with Namor as a lot of the character’s villains and such seem to be shared amongst the other Marvel characters.

Tiger Shark, maybe?

SDCC 2013: Hot Wheels Live-Action Movie Still In Development At Legendary

I believe the news first hit two years ago or so about Legendary’s plans to do a live-action Hot Wheels movie and most recently it became known that a director was being sought for a 2014 release.

Well, it seems the Hot Wheels movie is indeed still in the works as Legendary is giving away an exclusive die cast car at their Comic-Con booth.

Legendary also offered up that the Hot Wheels movie is currently in early development phase, described as a super-charged, over-the-top action film featuring massive stunts and amazing vehicles.

Here’s a pic of the Legendary/Hot Wheels Comic-Con exclusive:
