Jason Momoa Said To Play Aquaman Again In Batman Vs. Superman & Justice League

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:15823:]]

It’s once again being rumored that Jason Momoa is playing Aquaman for Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League.

HitFix is actually stating it’s a done deal and explains how Aquaman will be introduced, which was previously rumored and speculated as well.

According to the report, Aquaman isn’t too happy with what went down in Man of Steel regarding the World Engine and its affect on the Indian Ocean.

It’s said Aquaman will have a small appearance in Batman vs. Superman leading into a larger role in Justice League, and that Zack Snyder has already finalized the character designs so filming can begin soon.

Jason Momoa has also been rumored for Martian Manhunter, with Matt Damon said to be wanted for Aquaman.

In a previous report about the upcoming slate of DC Movies, it was said Aquaman would not be featured in Batman Vs. Superman, but Martian Manhunter is supposed to be.

If the Jason Momoa casting is true, Zack Snyder will have taken Aquaman in quite a different direction, which can only be compared to the casting of Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in the new Fantastic Four movie with Michael B. Jordan.

Both Aquaman and Human Torch are blond white characters in the comics that have been around for decades.

Jason Momoa Can See Himself As Lobo But Not Aquaman (Video)

For quite sometime now Jason Momoa has been rumored to be a part of the Batman Vs. Superman movie with it usually said as Aquaman, or like we’ve been told, Martian Manhunter.

Now at the East European Comic Con a fan asks Momoa about the Aquaman rumor.

Jason Momoa doesn’t specifically say no to a role but seems to scoff at Aquaman as he doesn’t resemble the character’s physical appearance; he says it would be like him playing Robin, but could see himself as Lobo.

Justice League has already been announced with Zack Snyder directing, and it’s been stated that Cyborg is being played by Ray Fisher. Matt Damon has also been mentioned for Aquaman. Will Jason Momoa have a role?

The untitled “Batman Vs Superman” has a newly announced May 6, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film.

Jason Momoa Said To Have Signed For Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:15119:]]

With yesterday’s news that Ray Fisher will play Victor Stone, aka Cyborg, in Batman Vs. Superman, now a new rumor is stating that Jason Momoa is signed as well.

Batman News says a source filled them in that Jason Momoa signed on to Batman Vs. Superman a couple months ago.

It’s speculated that Jason Momoa will either play the Martian Manhunter or quite possibly Aquaman.

In previous comments, Momoa has seemed to swing both ways a bit regarding having a role in the movie.

Momoa has denied the Aquaman rumors, but did say if he is asked to be in Batman Vs. Superman that he would say yes.

Jason Momoa Reveals Details About Guardians of the Galaxy Drax Audition

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:13951:]]

Jason Momoa, currently rumored for Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League, offers details about auditioning for Drax in the Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Momoa lets it be known he didn’t want the role as it was similar to characters he has played in the past.

“I was on Stargate: Atlantis for four years playing a similar character called Ronon, who was an alien who didn’t say much and grunted,” Momoa told Zap2It. “I’ve been there and done that, whether people have seen it or not. You want to stretch.”

Momoa did go on to state good things about Dave Bautista, who ended up getting the Drax role, as well as Chris Pratt, who he read with during the audition.

“I think it’s perfectly cast. Dave is perfect for that role, for Drax,” Momoa offered continuing with mention of Pratt who is playing Star-Lord. “One of the funnest auditions I’ve ever done in my life was with him. He’s phenomenal. He’s going to kill it. It’s going to be amazing. It’s a whole Han Solo vibe. It’s going to be a phenomenal movie. I’m glad that he is the lead of that. He’s funny as hell, man. He can improv; he just acts circles around me. It was really, really fantastic.”

So what about those Batman Vs. Superman rumors? Jason Momoa teases that he is interested in other superhero roles, and the comic books he is reading are a dead giveaway.

“I’m not going to tell you the ones I collect, because then you’d know,” he said with a laugh.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” has an August 1, 2014 release in the U.S. starring Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana As Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Vin Disel as Groot, Lee Pace as Ronan, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Djimon Houndsou as Korath, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Benicio del Toro as The Collector, John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey and Glenn Close as Nova Prime Rael.

Now Jason Momoa Says He Will Do Batman Vs. Superman If Asked

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:13276:]]

Jason Momoa has been rumored for both Aquaman and the Martian Mahunter in Batman Vs. Superman, which we were first told will feature the Justice League.

Following the rumors of Momoa and Aquaman, the actor was quick to dismiss any involvement with the role and movie.

Now Yahoo reports Jason Momoa said he will do it if asked.

A reporter for Yahoo had dinner with Momoa with the topic of Aquaman brought up.

The report states there is no truth to the Aquman rumors, but says Jason Momoa would be happy to make it a reality if he were asked.

Recently, Momoa was said to be in negotiations for a role in Batman Vs. Superman for at least the second time. We were told not for Aquaman, but for Martian Manhunter.

“Batman Vs Superman” has a newly announced May 6, 2016 release also starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

Jason Momoa Says No For Aquaman In Batman Vs. Superman (Video)

Jason Momoa is rumored to be in negotiations for Batman Vs. Superman, with it said either Aquman or Martian Manhunter.

Speaking with MTV in the following interview, Momoa says it’s all just rumors and he is flattered.

We were just told Jason Momoa is up for Martian Manhunter and not Aquaman.

As Momoa is said to be in negotiations, he isn’t a part of the movie just yet; so technically he is correct.

Would Jason Momoa be a good fit for the Justice League?

Exclusive: Batman Vs. Superman Delayed Because Of Justice League; Updates On Momoa, Holloway & Luthor

Yesterday saw the news announced regarding the new release date for Batman Vs. Superman with May 6, 2016.

I contacted my trusted source at Warner Bros. for some information.

If you recall, the source first provided Cosmic Book News the information that Batman Vs. Superman will feature the Justice League back in mid-December, which was recently confirmed by Latino Review. It is the same source that provided us with the Bryan Cranston casting and Cranston’s subsequent change of mind.

I’m told the reason for the Batman Vs. Superman delay is because of the Justice League and not because of the reported injury to Ben Affleck. The injury to Affleck isn’t so bad that they would have to delay the movie to 2016. The reason they are taking the extra time is – as we previously told you – the final 15-20 minutes of Batman Vs. Superman is set to have every major hero, and they are STILL in the casting process and need time for that as well.

Every casting decision is considered major as the person chosen will be that character for multiple movies/appearances.

The source also said that Jason Momoa will not be Aquaman, but is a contender for Martian Manhunter. You will note that Jason Momoa is said to still be in negotiations by The Hollywood Reporter in their own report of the Batman Vs. Superman release delay.

Regarding Aquaman, Comic Book Movie has it correct that Josh Holloway is the current favorite for the role.

We’re also told casting for Lex Luthor is still up in the air.

“Batman Vs Superman” has a newly announced May 6, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

Jason Momoa Really Up For Aquaman In Batman Vs. Superman & Justice League?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:13143:]]

It’s was previously reported that Jason Momoa was in talks for a role in Batman Vs. Superman speculated to be the Martian Manhunter.

Then Momoa flat out denied the rumors stating he wasn’t involved.

Now news surfaces that Momoa might be stretching the truth a bit as a new rumor suggests that Jason Momoa is up for Aquaman.

BadAssDigest has it that a trusted source has told them Momoa is up for Aquaman, even though the actor is denying a role in the movie(s).

They also confirm our first report of the Justice League appearing in Batman Vs. Superman as they state Aquaman will essentially cameo in the movie setting up the next one.

Interestingly enough, they state Momoa denying involvement could be a smokescreen to steer people off the right direction, which is what we just mentioned in regards to Bryan Cranston and Lex Luthor.

Regardless what’s true, it’s definitely going to be an interesting couple of months.

“Batman Vs Superman” has a July 17, 2015 release also starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

No Jason Momoa For Batman Vs. Superman; Confirms Guardians of the Galaxy Audition

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:12592:]]Jason Momoa has shot down the rumor that he is in talks or will have a role for Batman Vs. Superman and has confirmed he auditioned for Guardians of the Galaxy.

The actor goes so far to even state that he isn’t involved in Batman Vs. Superman.

IGN caught up with Jason Momoa, who was stated to be in negotiations for Batman Vs. Superman by the webite The Hollywood Reporter, and Momoa says no.

“It’s just rumor. It’s flattering. I want to say something amazing, but I can’t comment on rumors. I’m not involved in it,” he said.

Momoa goes on to comment that he may have mentioned he wouldn’t mind being in the film, but regarding talks, that didn’t happen.

“Maybe that’s how it came out. ‘You should be in this!’ and I said, ‘Yeah that would be great!’ And it just went too far,” Momoa said.

Previously, Momoa was rumored for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie for Drax, and he confirms that was true.

“I mean you audition for things. I auditioned for it. I think it’s the kind of thing where he said he’s a big guy and he does action, and he’s gonna fit in somewhere,” Momoa offered.

Jason Momoa was speculated to be playing the Martian Manhunter by many; so with this news, it’s possible the character might not be featured at all in Batman Vs. Superman – or just that they have a different actor.

“Batman Vs Superman” has a July 17, 2015 release also starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

Exclusive: Batman Vs. Superman May Feature Epic Justice League Battle Against JL Villain

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:12701:]]

With apparent changes in place for Batman Vs. Superman, I reached out to a trusted source at Warner Bros. for some new information.

Full disclosure: This source told me Bryan Cranston was cast as Lex Luthor and also said Cranston changed his mind. The source also told me it didn’t look like Mark Strong was going to be able to do the part, so it was “back to the drawing board.” Since then, a number of new Lex Luthor rumors hit the net with the latest being Joaquin Phoenix. The source also told me WB TV would be separate than the movie universe, which Arrow executive producer Greg Berlanti recently implied.

I inquired about a possible change in direction for Batman Vs. Superman as I noted that Joaquin Phoenix is younger than what it seemed Warner Bros. was previously going for with Bryan Cranston and Mark Strong as Lex Luthor. I also mentioned that a new writer has been brought on board with Ben Affleck’s Oscar-award winning screenwriter on Argo, Chris Terrio.

I’m told that Warner Bros. was thinking of an unknown younger actor for the role of Lex Luthor, but looks to have passed on him. So the notion that DC is now looking for a younger actor is correct. (Update: It’s now known the script was changed to accomodate the use of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor).

I’m also told it looks as if they have chopped the idea of having a Batman villain in the movie, and it looks likely that three Superman villains will be featured with Luthor, Metallo and Brainiac (Update: The latest trailer revealed Doomsday to be one, and prodution designer Patrick Tatopulos hinted at further threats).

Previously, there was a report about Jason Momoa being in talks for a role in Batman Vs. Superman. I’m told the speculation about Martian Manhunter looks to be correct (Update: Jason Momoa is playing Aquaman; Martian Manhunter was recently revealed on Supergirl).

Regarding the use of what looks to be so many superheroes in the movie, I’m told there is a strong possibility that all the heroes that have been rumored will meet up in the last 20 minutes or so of Batman Vs. Superman in an epic battle with the Justice League movie villain – who will debut at that point without any PR fanfare (Update: Wonder Woman, Flash and Aquaman are confirmed to appear; Tatopulos hinted that surprises are coming).

“Batman Vs Superman” has a July 17, 2015 March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Gal Gadot.

Jason Momoa Up For A Role In Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:12592:]]

The latest name to surface in regards to a role in Batman Vs. Superman is Jason Momoa.

There is no word what the role might be, but it’s possible Jason Momoa could either be Doomsday or the Martian Manhunter (via THR).

Momoa is known for roles in Game of Thrones as well as the recent Conan reboot.

Momoa is said to be in negotiations for Batman Vs. Superman, and if he lands the role would join the recent cast addition of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

Fans are noting the movie is looking more and more like a Justice League film as The Flash is said to appear as well, and if Momoa is indeed the Martian Manhunter –  that looks to be the case.

Momoa would make a pretty cool Doomsday, though.

“Batman Vs Superman” has a July 17, 2015 release also starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

Guardians of the Galaxy Movie: Defending Jason Momoa

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5856:]]A rumor hit about a week ago that said Jason Momoa was in negotiations with Marvel Studios to play Drax the Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

While that rumor was shot down by a reporter from The Hollywood Reporter, it has since also been rumored that Momoa turned down Marvel Studios because they weren’t offering enough money or vice versa, or whatever.

And then there was some report how Marvel gets their actors to sign for peanuts in the hopes that the other movies they do – that aren’t Marvel Studios movies – land lucrative contracts.

That’s all fine and dandy for guys like Chris Hemsworth or even Chris Evans and possibly with Chris Pratt.

Those roles are lead roles.

Drax the Destroyer is not.

This is pure speculation on my part – as I do read the comics – but I’m betting that if the Momoa not signing rumor is true, it’s because it was only a one picture deal.

So, as Momoa is already a known name – regardless of perceived box office bombs – “Drax the Destroyer” really isn’t going to do much for the actor, I am guessing.

And why am I guessing that?

Because more than likely Drax is going to bite the big one at the hands of Thanos.

We’ve already confirmed that Thanos is going to be in not only the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, but The Avengers 2 as well.

So that doesn’t look good for any members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, save Chris Pratt, perhaps, as the Guardians just might be cannon fodder for The Avengers 2.

Of course the rumor wasn’t true to begin with so it really doesn’t matter, right?

And let’s also not forget that this might be Iron Man 4.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5857:]]

Or maybe it was more than a one picture deal?

Jason Momoa Said To Be Drax In Guardians of the Galaxy Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5672:]]We may have our Drax the Destroyer for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie as it’s being said that Jason Momoa of Conan and Game of Thrones fame has been offered the part and is in negotiations.

We first head mention of Momoa’s involvement from an article from CBM – that has been taken down for some reason –  but we have the gist of that here.

Now, Latino Review says they have the scoop, and that Jason Momoa had such a good screen test that Marvel Studios offered Momoa the part of Drax, but that Momoa’s people counter-offered.

If true, Jason Momoa would join the likes of Chris Pratt, who has been cast in the lead as Star-Lord, Peter Quill.

Update: A reporter for The Hollywood reporter is saying this isn’t true, that Momoa just tested. Via Twitter:

Clarity Alert: My sources are telling me Jason Momoa TESTED for Drax the Destroyer/GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY but at this time has NO offer.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movie opens August 1, 2014 directed by James Gunn and is currently in production with filming set to begin in June.

H. Jon Benjamin Rumored For Rocket Raccoon In Guardians of the Galaxy Movie; Dwayne Johnson As Drax?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5339:]]We have another batch of Guardians of the Galaxy movie rumors on top of the last ones that were about Gamora, but this time about Rocket Raccoon.

It’s being stated (via CBM) that the rumors of Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler are true, but that another name might also be associated with Rocket Raccoon– and that it’s veteran voice-actor H. Jon Benjamin.

Jon Benjamin is known for voicing Sterling Archer in the FX’s Archer series as well as Bob Belcher in the Fox animated series Bob’s Burgers in addition to a lengthy resume of animated works.

The good news is that it’s said Rocket Raccoon – who contrary to previous rumors – will have a more featured role in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie and that Marvel Studios doesn’t want to portray him as a “childish character.”

They also have an update on the casting for Drax The Destroyer and say that Dwayne Johnson was in contention – CBN’s pick for the role – but due to Johnson signing on the new Hercules movie that he won’t be able to.

Apparently the loss of Dwawyne Johnson has caused the casting call for Drax to change from more of an African-American role to one said to be more of an athletic Caucasian. Jason Momoa’s named has also been said to be up for Drax at one time, but due to his recent flops might be ruled out.

One tidbit regarding Gamora that we haven’t heard from the previous rumors is that Henry Cavill‘s girlfriend, Gina Carano, and Olivia Wilde are named.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movie opens August 1, 2014 directed by James Gunn.
