Benedict Cumberbatch Now Rumored For Sith Lord In Star Wars: Episode VII; To Be Used Throughout New Trilogy

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:10657:]]

Earlier, a rumor hit the net about Benedict Cumberbatch being cast for Star Wars: Episode VII.

Now another rumor has been added on top of that with it said that Benedict Cumberbatch is up for a Sith Lord in Star Wars; that it is a major role, and one which will continue throughout the new trilogy.

The latest comes from BadAssDigest who previously stated J.J. Abrams was thinking of leaving the Star Wars franchise, and that Episode VII will have a December 2015 release date.

Benedict Cumberbatch playing a Sith Lord seems to be an obvious choice as the actor played the villain role for J.J. Abrams in Star Trek Into Darkness; however, if true, there’s still a 50-50 chance Cumberbatch could play a Jedi Knight.

Benedict Cumberbatch has to to be confirmed by Disney, so per the norm, we’ll have to play the waiting game.

9 Awesome Star Wars Episode VII Fan Poster Includes The Avengers & Thanos

Below you can check out nine awesome fan-made Star Wars Episode VII movie posters that someone uploaded to Imgur.

The last one is particularly cool in that it connects the Marvel movie universe to Star Wars.

If you recall the recent video that Parks and Recreation released featuring Patton Oswalt pitching his version of Star Wars Episode VII, that’s where the poster gets its inspiration.

We also see a couple done similar to the Benedict Cumberbatch Star Trek Into Darkness posters.

5th one down is pretty cool as well.

Carrie Fisher Confirms Star Wars Episode VII Involvement Again

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:7287:]]

Previously, Carrie Fisher confirmed she will be reprising as Prince Leia for J.J. Abrams and Star Wars Episode VII.

However, her PR people were quick to say that Fisher was joking.

However, now Carrie Fisher confirms her involvement in Star Wars Episode VII once again while attending the Calgary Comic Expo.

Seems Disney is going to her into shape for the movie.

Most likely, J.J. Abrams and Disney are waiting on some big event to make the announcement that Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford are signed on for Star Wars Episode VII; perhaps at this Summer’s Comic-Con.

The Calagary Herald reports:

Yes, Carrie Fisher confirmed to a rapt audience at the BMO Centre Saturday afternoon that she will in fact be reprising her most famous role of Princess Leia in a new series of Star Wars films, which will be produced by Disney. She was the first of the original cast members to announce her participation back in March, although apparently jumped the gun. Her publicist later said she was joking and that nothing had been confirmed.

However, it seems to be a done deal now. But for fans looking for a sneak-peek of what to expect in the new film, Fisher didn’t offer many juicy details.

“I like being bought by Disney, because they never wanted to buy me before,” she said during a talk at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo. “I’m glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I’m really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see. By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything.

Leaked Star Wars: Reclamation Animated Series Sounds Like Just What We Told You

With Disney taking over LucasFilm and ensuing lay-offs following, it’s more than likely that there are a few ex-employees that feel burned.

That seems to be exactly the case as one supposed former LucasFilm employee posted scans about a new animated series, “Star Wars: Reclamation,” over at IMDb (via TheForce.net).

And it sounds a lot like what we were told previously from our DC Entertainment source.

Our DC Entertainment Source previously provided us information from a LucasFilm friend about a possible new Star Wars animated series and that it would take place after Return of the Jedi.

Here are the details we were sent:

The new animated Star Wars TV series may focus on the Rebellion taking down the remaining remnants of the Empire spread across the galaxy. It’s said to be similar toThe Clone Wars in which it features a large cast of characters and doesn’t focus on a sole group (i.e. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo).

From the leaked concept documents found below:

The show will feature a core ensemble cast of new and familiar characters, and explore their internal and collective struggles against the backdrop of a galaxy-spanning war. The focus will largely be on this group, but will shift occasionally to lesser characters and situation.

And

Drawing from the talent and workflow structure in the creation of THE CLONE WARS animated series, our goal with RECLAMATION is to create a show with similarly wide appeal in terms of viewership and marketing possibilities.

And

The entire Galaxy is fair game, and any character can be the star.

And

The Rebel Alliance has succeeded in restoring Republic control over many sectors, but pockets of resistance endure the Galaxy over.

And

Fifteen years have passed since RETURN OF THE JEDI and the death of Anakin Skywalker.

Princess Leia is also named in the document as is Luke Skywalker (“Shade”).

As “Star Wars: Reclamation” may have been one of the projects in development prior to the Disney acquisition, this may never see the light of day, similar to LucasArts and the video games that were in development.

Watch Harrison Ford On David Letterman About Star Wars (Video)

Still not confirmed for Star Wars Episode VII is Harrison Ford.

Harrison Ford recently appeared on The David Letterman Show where he was questioned about his involvement in the new Star Wars.

Ford tries to ignore the questioning, and then Letterman asks if he doesn’t want to be in another one.

Ford responds by saying,”For a long time they didn’t ask me. Imagine how I feel,” with the crowd responding in laughter as the “long time” mentioned obviously refers to the prequels and such.

Letterman tries to continue with Ford cutting him off while nodding his head, “So let’s just let it…”

Exclusive: Star Wars Animated TV Series Details, More On Spin-Off Movies & Video Games

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:6615:]]Our DC Entertainment source who has been sharing Justice League movie updates with us and more has provided us with a new batch Star Wars details.

Previously our source told us that Star Wars Episode VII might take place 30 year after Return of the Jedi and feature a disciple of Palpatine, and most recently gave us details about a possible Darth Maul spin-off movie.

The latest is in regards to the new Star Wars animated TV series as well as the direction Disney will be taking their various related media including the video games.

We know that Disney recently canceled Star Wars: The Clone Wars and closed down the LucasArts video game division.

We’re told a majority – if not all – the Star Wars related media will be focusing on events following Episode VI, which would include the spin-off movies, TV and video games.

Our source said his LucasFilm friend offered the following.

• The new animated Star Wars TV series may focus on the Rebellion taking down the remaining remnants of the Empire spread across the galaxy. It’s said to be similar to The Clone Wars in which it features a large cast of characters and doesn’t focus on a sole group (i.e. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo).

• The spin-offs films could include original characters and may not be focused on a well known character (i.e. Boba Fett, Han Solo etc).

• However, a spin-off may possibly be set before Episode I for certain characters (i.e. Yoda).

• New video games will be post Episode VI and could be based on the TV Series being developed.

• There will more than likely be video games based on Episode VII, VIII and IX.

New Star Wars Rumors Have Simon Pegg & Alfonso Cuaron Attached

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5867:]]We now have another Star Trek name and a Harry Potter name attached to new Star Wars movies.

The latest rumor is that Simon Pegg and Alfonso Cuaron will be involved with the upcoming new Star Wars films.

Pegg may have something to do with J.J. Abrams’ Episode VII, and Alfonso Cuaron looks to be on the list to direct either Star Wars Episode VIII, IX, or possibly both.

The news comes to us from MarketSaw, a site that previously gave us a bunch of rumors that seemed to be on the spot.

It’s also stated – for the third time – that Harrison Ford is not signed on, but does seem willing to return as Han Solo. It’s stated he is in negotiations, much like we recently heard from Mark Hamill.

It’s also said that Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams have Star Wars fans’ interests in their heart.

Alfonso Cuaron directed Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban, Children of Men and the upcoming science-fiction flick, Gravity, which stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock.

Regarding Simon Pegg, it’s stated he looks to be involved in some way, but the capacity is not known.

Star Wars Episode VII has a 2015 release date directed by J.J. Abrams.

Oh, Wait; Harrison Ford Not Signed On To Star Wars

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5706:]]Remember the big “scoop” that hit this week about “confirming” Harrison Ford has signed on to the new Star Wars?

Not confirming with – you know – Disney, but…??

Anyway.

Seems Harrison Ford might not be signed on to the new Star Wars after all.

If you recall, it’s been stated that Harrison Ford isn’t big into returning, but if he does, may have some stipulations.

Actually back when Return of the Jedi was getting made, Ford wanted his character killed off, but reportedly George Lucas gave that a big no.

While it does seem like a no-brainer that Harrison Ford will return along side Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, a reporter for Entertainment Weekly offers that the deal has a ways to go.

EW’s Geoff Boucher tweeted the following:

Harrison Ford deal? My source says not yet. “It will not be for weeks and perhaps months.”

Of course, this could be Disney trying to cover their keisters.

Update: Mark Hamill shoots down the rumor as well.

Star Wars Episode VII has a 2015 release date directed by J.J. Abrams.

Carrie Fisher Confirmed For Star Wars? Maybe not

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4091:]]

Do we have our first confirmation for the new Star Wars movie that it’s Carrie Fisher returning as Princess Leia?

We know previous to the Star Wars acquisition George Lucas had contacted Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher about new Star Wars movies.

Carrie Fisher was also recently asked about Star Wars, where she said she would like to return.

It’s also been confirmed that the new movie will feature the original characters.

However, has Fisher already been signed?

At a recent book signing, Fisher whispered to a fan when asked if she was returning, “Yes….I thought it was already common knowledge.”

TheForce.net says Fisher didn’t elaborate or offer any other details; however, the site was contacted by a rep who said that Fisher had said it “tongue-in-cheek.”

Did she?

Or did Fisher let it slip?

Regardless, it does seem likely that Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia will return in Star Wars Episode VII which has a 2015 release date.

Twilight’s Robert Pattinson Wants To Be In The News Star Wars

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4007:]]

We’ve heard from just about every director you can imagine in regards to Disney’s new Star Wars movies, my guess is that now we’ll be hearing more from actors that want to play a role in the new trilogies.

With the last part in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn Part 2, debuting this week, would Robert Pattinson like to join The Force?

“Oh, absolutely,” he tells The Washington Post about playing a role in Star Wars. “In a heartbeat.”

Of course Robert Pattinson is known for playing the vampire, Edward Cullen, in the billion dollar Stephenie Meyer adapted franchise, and seeing how it is said that a new generation will be continuing on with the Star Wars movies, would Robert Pattinson make a good future jedi

Or, perhaps, as he is no stranger to it — a member of the Dark Side.
