Vin Diesel Coming To San Diego Comic-Con; With New Riddick Poster

Vin Diesel will be coming to the San Diego Comic-Con this Summer for his new Riddick movie, and below you can check out a first look at a new SDCC poster.

Vin Diesel revealed the poster on his Facebook announcing that he hasn’t been to Comic-Con in 10 years as well.

Looks like he is coming this time.

It’s been over decade, since I’ve been to Comic-Con…

The Furyan…

P.s. First look at the 2013 Comic-Con, Riddick poster.

Prepare for the latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000’s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered.

The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

Riddick has a September 6, 2013 release directed by David Twohy and also starring Karl Urban, Katie Sackoff, and Dave Bautista.

Captain America 2 Hayley Atwell Short To Be Featured At Comic-Con; Would Do Tomb Raider Reboot

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:7039:]]We previously heard that Hayley Atwell will be back in Captain America 2 in the form of a flashback scene, and now we hear fans might get a little bonus at this Summer’s Comic-Con.

In a recent interview, Hayley Atwell let the cat out of the bag that they shot something and that it will be shown at Comic-Con.

“There’s been an online campaign for Peggy to be featured. People really liked her,” she told “So Marvel have made sure that as part of Comicon there will be a little kind of snapshot as to what Peggy’s actually really capable of, which was finished here and which was great fun. Hopefully, it will lead to other things.”

It could very well be that the aforementioned flashback scene might not be a part of Captain America 2 and simply be the reveal at Comic-Con.

Atwell also says that she’d love to do a spinoff featuring Peggy Carter, and if that doesn’t happen she wouldn’t mind taking on the new Tomb Raider movie.

“I’d revisit Peggy again. She’s pretty uptight. I’d like to, if I get a spin-off, definitely add a bit of humour in there. She’s very British. Very uptight. Let’s hope if she gets a spin-off it’s modern day, so she can relax a little bit, let go of the uniform,” Atwell said. “There’s also some kind of online campaign for me to do Tomb Raider Reborn, which I know has just come out as a computer game. MGM have the rights to make it into a film, which would be fantastic to do because I’d get to spend a year of my life training hard and pick up all sorts of fantastic fun skills.”

The Russo Bros. are directing Captain America: The Winter Soldier which has an April 4th, 2014 release date and stars Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

Please Buy Us A Rocket Raccoon Mug; We Don’t Want To Pay 50 Bucks On eBay

Cosmic Book News couldn’t make it to this year’s NYCC because the DOC decided to go to Disney.

And we are ticked, too, because at the NYCC this year is an exclusive Guardians of the Galaxy Rocket Raccoon mug.

So if any Marvel Cosmic fans are there and would like to pick us up one, we would be much obliged.

We don’t want to have to resort to eBay where a Rocket Raccoon mug is listed for 50 bones, with one previously selling for 25.

We’ll even throw this out there: If any creators want to pick us up a mug, we’ll give you free advertising well over the 12 bucks the mug costs.

Thank you.

SDCC 2012: DC Comics Announces New Sandman By Neil Gaiman With JH Williams III

At today’s DC Comics Vertigo Panel at the San Diego Comic Con, Neil Gaiman made a special appearance via video feed to announce that he will be returning to Sandman.

JH Williams III was in attendance and will be the artist on the new mini-series slated for 2013.

See below for the full blurb from DC.

Surprise Announcement at San Diego Comic-Con Pairs Legendary, Award Winning Author with Artist JH Williams III Under DC Entertainment’s Vertigo Imprint
Twenty-five years after one of the most celebrated graphic novels of all-time hit shelves, award winning and critically acclaimed author and screenwriter, Neil Gaiman, announces his return to THE SANDMAN. Gaiman made the surprise announcement, via video, at DC Entertainment’s Vertigo panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.  Karen Berger, Executive Editor of Vertigo, then revealed that Gaiman is paired with artist, JH Williams III (BATWOMAN) for the series, who appeared on stage to an already stunned and elated crowd. THE SANDMAN mini-series will be published by Vertigo in 2013.
One of the few graphic novels ever to be on the New York Times Best Seller list and lauded by critics the world over, THE SANDMAN is credited with changing the path of storytelling in the comic book industry. Gaiman will pick up his pen for the first time in more than 10 years since ending the series to continue a story that he feels still has yet to be told.
“When I finished writing THE SANDMAN, there was one tale still untold. The story of what had happened to Morpheus to allow him to be so easily captured in THE SANDMAN #1, and why he was returned from far away, exhausted beyond imagining, and dressed for war. It was a story that we discussed telling for Sandman’s 20th anniversary… but the time got away from us. And now, with Sandman’s 25th anniversary year coming up, I’m delighted, and nervous, that that story is finally going to be told,” said Gaiman
“There’s nothing like a Neil Gaiman story,” said Berger, “and there’s nothing like having Neil back home on THE SANDMAN, his dark, soulful, literary epic that transformed comics and continues to captivate countless new readers year after year. Working with him again, and with JH Williams, the extraordinary and groundbreaking artist, is truly the stuff dreams are made of.”
DC Entertainment Co-Publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio added, “As accomplished as Neil Gaiman is in other media—whether it be novels, film and even music—he still has an incredible passion and love for comics. It’s exciting to have him back. J.H. Williams will be the perfect complement to Neil’s writing. He has a history of creating art that pushes the boundaries of the medium.”
Each issue of THE SANDMAN mini-series will be published day-and-date digitally.  The title will be announced at a later date.
