Chad Coleman Things The Walking Dead Movie Will Happen

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:7725:]]

From the comic books to television to video games to novels, The Walking Dead has conquered all.

So what’s left?

Why the big screen of course.

And Chad Coleman, who plays Tyreese, thinks it’s going to happen.

We just heard from Coleman who said he wants to play Luke Cage for Marvel Studios, and now the actor thinks The Walking Dead movie is not far off.

“As far as The Walking Dead movie is concerned, I think it should happen,” Coleman told MTV. “I think it would be amazing. I think it would catch on like wild fire. Everybody would love that, just as much as they talk about the Wired movie. But I really think a Walking Dead movie is going to be in the works not too far down the road, and I think it’s just going take them by storm.”

Would a The Walking Dead movie work better as a stand alone film or as part of the serialized AMC universe?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Listen To The Walking Dead’s Chad Coleman Voice Luke Cage; Actively Seeking The Part (Video)

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:7682:]]With Marvel Studios moving forward with new characters for their Phase 2 and 3 films, one character that has been getting attention has been Luke Cage.

Isaiah Mustafa stated he wanted to play the power man back in 2011 as well as did Idris Elba. It’s said Dwayne Johnson might be up for the role as well as Tyrese Gibson.

Now, the latest has The Walking Dead‘s Chad Coleman (Tyreese) stating he wants Luke Cage as well.

“I want to play Luke Cage so I’ll put it out there right now,” Coleman tells MTV. “I want to play Luke Cage. So I’m going to be working on trying to develop that. Gale Anne Hurd, I know you’re listening, I’ll see you in Atlanta, I know we haven’t talked about this yet, but I would love to play Luke Cage.”

Coleman continues with mention that a lot of his friends have told him he should play a black superhero, and when he came onboard The Walking Dead that got things moving for him.

“When I started to embody Tyreese, it really got the wheels turning because I admire what Robert Downey Jr. is able to do with Iron Man. I admire when it’s done a certain way, there has to be gravity to it – it can’t be cheesy, unless we are doing a comedy with it, but I feel like I can take that on. Coleman continued, “That’s what I’m really looking forward to doing.”

And then Chad Coleman gives us a bit of Luke Cage as he recites a line that the character is known for.

“Man, SWEET CHRISTMAS!”

Chad Coleman (The Wire) was earlier rumored to be playing the character with AMC eventually confirming.

In the comics, Tyreese is Michonne’s boyfriend; however, he first is with Carol before Michonne ended up seducing him.

We don’t think that will play out in the TV series, but you never know.
