Dominic Cooper May Reprise Howard Stark In Captain America 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5978:]]We already know that there will be a flashback scene or two in Captain America 2, “The Winter Soldier,” as Haley Atwell confirmed her character, Peggy Carter, will make an appearance.

Dominic Cooper, who played Howard Stark in the first movie, was recently asked if his character will be involved in a scene in Captain America 2 as well.

The actor confirmed that there have been talks, but seems to beat around the bush if it’s a definite thing.

Dominic Cooper told ScreenInvasion the following about returning as Howard Stark:

Yeah, they mentioned that, they mentioned it to me. But I don’t know how… I’m too busy. I’m trying to film, I’m filming at the moment, everyday, and I’m really trying to make it work but I think I’m stuck in Budapest, so at the moment its really, really tough, like I don’t know how I’m going to achieve it.

I don’t know how I’m going to get to… yeah, there was talk of it, and now I don’t know whether I can, which will be really annoying because I loved being part of those. You know, I think it it was such an incredible time, and I think — you know the first one — they did such an incredible job of it. So, I will try my hardest to get Stark back into a flashback sequence or some description, but its proving rather difficult in terms of scheduling at the moment.

Chris Evans Oscars Weight Signifies Captain America 2 Production Delays?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5854:]]I don’t think I was the only one watching the Oscars last night and noticed that Chris Evans seemed a shadow of his former super soldier self.

Captain America 2, “The Winter Soldier,” should begin filming soon, I think, but maybe not at least for three months or so judging from the look of Evans at the Oscars.

I do recall the actor stating how much he disliked following the strict exercise program he was on for Captain America: The First Avenger, so maybe he is waiting until the last second.

Or the other possibility is that we know there will be flashback scenes, so maybe they are saving on CGI costs for scenes featuring a pre-super soldier serum Cap?!

All kidding aside, here is Chris Evans at the Oscars followed by one where he is pretty jacked.

And I do recall hearing about production delays, and that Evans hasn’t read the script yet as of mid-February, so maybe filming is set to begin further than anticipated.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier has an April 4, 2014 release date.

Captain America 2 Said To Be Political Thriller By Marvel Studios Kevin Feige

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5811:]]While wait for Captain Ameria 2, “The Winter Soldier,” to begin filming, Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige recently described the movie as a “political thriller.”

Speaking with Variety about how he keeps the Marvel Studios movies fresh, Feige says that as long as they are on top of their game, the movies will continue to do well.

“If it is a fad, it’s one that lasts 30 to 40 years, as the Western did, because each one is so different,” Feige told Variety. “There’s an opportunity to graft almost sub-genres onto them. Our first Captain America film was a World War II picture, and the next is a political thriller. They all have their own textures and patinas, and that’s what is exciting about it.”

Recent news about Captain America 2 includes a casting addition with Emily Van Camp as well as the return of Haley Atwell and working in Cleveland on the movie.

Hayley Atwell Will Return In Captain America 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5626:]]Contrary to previous statements, it now seems that Hayley Atwell will be returning to Captain America 2, “The Winter Soldier.”

“I know that Hayley is going back to do a flashback scene,” Tucci told the Collider. “But I have not been asked.”

Hayley Atwell played Peggy Carter in the first movie, with it recently becoming known that Emily VanCamp has been cast as a lead in Captain America 2, thought to play Sharon Carter, Peggy’s niece.

The Avengers 2 Begins In Iron Man 3 Says Kevin Feige

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5237:]]Though we have heard that Iron Man 3 will be a standalone film – or more so than the previous IM movies – Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige teases that The Avengers 2 actually begins there.

While the previous Marvel Studios Phase One movies may have made it seem more obvious that they were building to something big, Feige says that we might not noticed the hints for The Avengers 2 in Iron Man 3.

“I would say that the exercise of this film is very much standalone, more so than any ‘Iron Man’ film since the first one. But because we are in Phase Two and we’re heading towards another ‘Avengers’ movie, there’s certainly a road that’s being paved — you just might not notice it,” Feige told MTV about signs for The Avengers 2 in Iron Man 3. “While you’re driving on the road, not knowing where it’s going, you might not realize that there are road signs and signals and lane changes that we’re setting up now — they might not be readily apparent the first time you see the movie.”

Feige is tight-lipped when asked about specifics, but offers that it’s more about Tony Stark than any other grandiose designs.

“In this one, it has less to do with any sort of larger S.H.I.E.L.D. or cosmic overlay, but much more about Tony, his frame of mind, his viewpoint and the things he wants to pursue.”

Feige also offered that Joss Whedon is still working on the script and that, “there are already seven things in there that are worth the price of admission alone.”

Any ideas?

The Avengers 2 assembles May 1, 2015 with Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013, Thor: The Dark World on November 8, 2013, Captain America: Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014, the Guardians of the Galaxy movie on August 1, 2014 and Ant-Man on November 6, 2015..

Captain America 2: Falcon Will Fly & Battle Spoiler Says Anthony Mackie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5028:]]

We just previously heard Anthony Mackie describe his Captain America 2, “The Winter Soldier,” costume for Falcon as being bad a–, and now we learn some specific details about Sam Wilson.

Mackie lets it be known that Falcon will indeed have wings and take to the skies, as well as his character will be battling the title character in the movie.

“I will have wings. I will be able to fly,” Mackie tells AICN. “I will be a superhero and fight people, namely The Winter Soldier.”

We also learn that the movie will not be an exact take on the comic books that feature his character as Mackie lets it be known, “It’s fortunate, because it’s a take off the comic book, it’s not the exactly storyline of the comic book.”

What about Redwing? Redwing is Sam Wilson’s pet Falcon, that in the comic books Sam can communicate with telepathically due to the Cosmic Cube.

“Man, I told you I can’t talk…[laughs],” Mackie said. “This is the first job I got asked to do first, and you’re trying to get me fired first. I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Captain America 2: Falcon Looks Like A Bad Mother- Says Anthony Mackie (Video)

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4994:]]

Steve Rogers will get a little help from his friend, Sam Wilson, in Captain America 2, “The Winter Soldier,” as Falcon is set to take to the skies.

Anthony Mackie will be playing Falcon and offered a bit of news on the movie.

He tells MTV that “the Russo brothers have been really good about keeping me informed of their visions and ideas for what they want the movie to be,” and that “it seems like it’s going to work on all accords, so I’m just excited about it.”

Regarding the Russo brothers’ vision of the Captain America 2, Mackie says that he knows what the Falcon costume looks like, and that “it’s pretty awesome. I look like a bad mother-what. It’s pretty cool,” perhaps at the same time clueing us in that it resembles more the Marvel Ultimate Comics version (pictured right) than it’s red counterpart.

Will Sam Wilson be having a role in any other Marvel Studios movies? Anthony Mackie is pretty much mum on the subject, but offers that Marvel Studios doesn’t do anything without a reason.

“They’re very specific about how they utilize talent from movie to movie,” Mackie told MTV. “They have a long ranging scope on what they want the Marvel franchise to be. They’re real smart about it. Nothing happens by happenstance with them.”

No Hayley Atwell For Captain America 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4892:]]

With Captain America 2, “The Winter Soldier,” taking place more in the present day than the WWII era of the first movie, Hayley Atwell will not be making an appearance in the sequel.

Hayley Atwell, who played Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger, confirmed the news to TimeOut.com.

“She won’t, she confirms, be back for the latter’s sequel, which moves the action into the present day,” TimeOut reported.

With Atwell out that means no flashback with her and Chris Evans. It most likely also means that Peggy Carter will not be featured in the present day, though an older actress could easily fit the bill. Still, you think they would just age Atwell with makeup and special effects, so most likely, it seems a sure bet we won’t be seeing Peggy Carter.

One character we will be seeing a lot more of in Captain America 2 is Nick Fury, as Samuel L. Jackson recently let it be known that he will be featured in the movie.

The Russo Bros. are directing Captain America: The Winter Soldier which has an April 4th, 2014 release date and stars Chris Evans.

Samuel L. Jackson Wants To Be The Voice Of Joss Whedon’s S.H.I.E.L.D.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4787:]]Other than the use of Agent Phil Coulson, I believe it’s been said that the S.H.I.E.L.D. television series from Joss Whedon will not be tieing directly into the various Marvel Studios movies.

However, as it is S.H.I.E.L.D., some sort of Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury cameo – at least in the first episode – would seem like a no-brainer, in addition to the the ratings it would help bring in.

So far though, Jackson hasn’t heard much about an appearance, but does offer that perhaps he could be the voice of S.H.I.E.L.D.

“I don’t know. I keep hearing about it, and I haven’t talked to Joss about it,” Jackson told MTV. “But in my mind, I would tend to think that he would, if nothing else, be like Charlie in ‘Charlie’s Angels.’ At least be the voice!”

Samuel L. Jackson also reiterated to MTV what we previously heard in that he will have a larger role in Captain America 2.

It’s a full-on role, from the original script that I read. It’s a full-on S.H.I.E.L.D. operation in ‘Captain America.’ But I don’t know — I’m meeting with the directors this week to see what happens.”

The S.H.I.E.L.D. series looks to debut this Fall on ABC and recently rounded out the cast by adding a sixth Agent.

Clark Gregg stars as Agent Coulson, with Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Iain De Caesteckeras Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons, and Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May.

Samuel L. Jackson To Have Larger Role In Captain America 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4770:]]

We get a short update on the status of Nick Fury from Samuel L. Jackson.

The character will have a larger role in Captain America 2, similar to his role in Iron Man 2.

ComingSoon asked the actor about a potential Nick Fury movie, with Jackson basically saying to look to Captain America 2 for more from his character.

“I know him as something else because I’ve been alive longer than most of the fans that watch the movies so I know Nick Fury as the World War II veteran and all that stuff,” Jackson explained when asked if a Nick Fury movie would be necessary to further explain the character. “It might be interesting to do one day but we find out little bits and pieces about Nick and we’re going into ‘Captain America 2’ in late March.”

Previously, Samuel L. Jackson revealed that he would not be appearing in Iron Man 3 or Thor 2 as well.

The Russo Bros. are directing Captain America: The Winter Soldier which has an April 4th, 2014 release date and stars Chris Evans.

No Samuel Jackson In Iron Man 3 But Yes For Captain America 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4333:]]

Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige recently said that none of the Avengers would be appearing in Iron Man 3 (maybe Ant-Man?!), and now Samuel L. Jackson says more of the same.

Jackson tells Total Film Magazine (Via MTV) that Iron Man 3 will be a standalone movie and that he won’t be featured in it, but does offer where we can see the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. next — in Captain America 2, “The Winter Soldier.”

“I think my next time as Nick Fury is in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.’ Because I’m not in ‘Iron Man 3,'” he told the Total Film. “None of the Avengers are in ‘Iron Man 3.’ It’s a standalone ‘Iron Man’ movie.”

So by those statements it would be “no” for Thor 2 as well, as Thor 2 follows Iron Man 3, with Captain America 2 following Thor 2.

Wonder if Nick Fury will be in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie?

Iron Man 3 blasts off May 3rd, 2013 directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.

The Avengers Phase One Box Set To Offer Exclusives On Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America 2, Ant-Man

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4216:]]Remember The Avengers Phase One Boxed Set that came with the cool Cosmic Cube briefcase (right)?

And remember how Disney had to pull it as they didn’t have the rights to the design?

Well, Cosmic Book News did tell you that Disney would be coming back with something better, and now we learn that is indeed the case.

The Avengers Phase One Box Set is back online for pre-order with an April 2, 2013 release — and it comes with a host of new goodies that includes a look at the upcoming Phase Two Marvel Studios movies: Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Guardians of the Galaxy movie and Ant-Man.

Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige offered to EW, there will be “footage, concept art, and a few new surprises. Also, look for a nod to Iron Man 3 in the Tony Stark S.H.I.E.L.D. file in the box set.”

Currently filming for Marvel is Iron Man 3 and Thor 2, so we’ll most likely see footage from there. We could also see the Ant-Man movie test footage, which has been said to be getting cleaned up for release.

Captain America 2 begins filming in January, so footage from that looks to have pretty much a slim chance of being included.

Regarding Guardians of the Galaxy movie footage, no dates have been announced for filming, but we could see more concept art or possibly a first look at some CGI images of Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

The Avengers Phase One Boxed Set also includes an alternate-ending to Thor with Natalie Portman’s character, Jane Foster.

The Avengers 2 assembles May 1, 2015 with Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013, Thor: The Dark World on November 8, 2013, Captain America: Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014, and the Guardians of the Galaxy movie on August 1, 2014.

The Avengers 2 Movie Gets Crossbones; Masters Of Evil?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:3988:]]

I suppose this could be a pretty big spoiler seeing how it reveals that the villain for Captain America 2 “The Winter Soldier” survives.

It was just confirmed that actor Frank Grillo will be playing Crossbones in Captain America 2, and now the actor has apparently confirmed an appearance in The Avengers 2.

The original source that broke the story about Frank Grillo’s involvement with Marvel Studios, which the actor also confirmed on Twitter, spoke to Grillo who gave an affirmative to The Avengers 2.

The host of the Matthew Aaron Show let it be known that Grillo will be in The Avengers 2.

DarkHorizons.net (via Matthew Aaron Show) reports that Grillo is confirmed to play Crossbones in three Marvel Studios movies as well.

In the comics, back in House of M, Crossbones was a member of the Masters of Evil, which was led by The Hood. The Hood eventually went on to become a big part of Brian Michael BendisAvengers run, and interestingly enough, sought the Infinity Gems, which have been rumored to play a part in the Marvel Studios movies with mention of Thanos.

And the apparent Roger Wardell Marvel Studios Twitter scooper also let it be known that the Masters of Evil would be featured in The Avengers 2, albeit after this information already came out by the looks of it.
