The actor who played Black Bolt in Marvel TV’s Inhumans on IMAX and ABC took to social media to comment on his big return and also released a behind-the-scenes-video. “Finally able to …
With Vin Diesel out, former WWE superstar Cody Rhodes wants to play Black Bolt for the Marvel TV and IMAX Inhumans series. Cody Rhodes, no stranger to playing cosmic characters as he was known as Stardust in wrestling, stated he is actively pursuing Black Bolt. Rhodes is also no stranger to the comic book world …
On the heels of the announcement of the new Inhumans TV series, Marvel Comics is launching new comic book series next year. On more than one occasion Vin Diesel has teased playing Black Bolt in the Marvel Studios Inhumans movie with the latest being that Vin Diesel recommended his Witch Hunter co-star Rose Leslie for a role and teased that his “presence” would be used for another character.
Now while in London speaking with IGN, Black Bolt is brought up again with Vin Diesel offering his impression.
“If I said one word, I would level all of London,” Vin Diesel offered in the above video.
Vin Diesel continued with mention about talking with both Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige as well as his father about super hero roles.
“It would be… put it this way, when Kevin Feige started talking to me about… who would ever think?” Diesel offered. “A voice for one thing and presence for another would be pretty genius – it’d be pretty genius.”
It should be mentioned that Vin Diesel as Black Bolt isn’t confirmed (he could very well be playing Lockjaw in some form), and note that Vin Diesel didn’t specify what Feige was talking about, but check out what his father told him, which may actually hint at Adam Warlock.
“Whenever my father sends me an email, at the end of it he says ‘stay human’ – and it’s cool and beautiful, but what is he really trying to say. Is he trying to say I’ve been affected by Terrigen Mist? Does he want to cocoon me again?”
Relative to the character of Adam Warlock is that Warlock is an artificial human who was born/reborn in a cocoon. Warlock is also quite the presence in the Marvel Cosmic universe, wouldn’t you say?
Inhumans has a July 12, 2019 release.
Kevin Feige talks Marvel in a recent interview with Crave Online.
Worth a mention is that it’s being speculated that Fox is rebooting their X-Men universe following X-Men: Apocalypse, with some fans even thinking X-Men may return to Marvel.
Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige says he would like to have the X-Men return, but seems to say that won’t be happening anytime soon.
Well, the answer would always be “yes,” I think, to getting them back. But I think they have a solid plan over that at Fox for a while.
Exactly. I think there will be threads of it, for sure, that carry over.
Slight spoiler follows for Avengers 2.
Loki’s staff was revealed to house the Mind Gem of the Infinity Stones in Avengers 2. Feige confirms it’s the Mind Gem as well, and names the two gems that are yet to be introduced into the MCU.
It’s definitely the Mind Stone. Space, you’re right. Time and Soul are the two that are not accounted for.
If you thought for a second that Vin Diesel was vying for Gorgon, or Triton, or any Inhumans character other than Black Bolt – think again.
Vin Diesel participated in a rapid fire QnA with Esquire where he mentions Black Bolt.
Actually, Vin Diesel mentions Black Bolt four times.
First, Vin Diesel is asked, “Superman or Batman?” with the actor replying, “Marvel.”
Then he’s asked between the Fox Studios Marvel characters, “Wolverine or Cyclops?”
Vin Diesel responds, “Guardians!” with a cackle noted, and then adds, “OK, Black Bolt. Black Bolt, Black Bolt, Black Bolt.”
Would Vin Diesel be a good choice to play the character? Interestingly enough, similar to Groot in the comics, Black Bolt is prety much mum; however, a pocket universe was created for the King of the Inhumans, which did enable him to speak without using his powers.
Inhumans has a July 12, 2019 release, and Vin Diesel is slated to return as the voice of Groot for Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
A couple of weeks ago saw Vin Diesel post an image of himself (above) on Facbook that read “Are you Inhuman?“
Vin Diesel also previously stated he was in talks for a new Marvel franchise that would merge the Marvel brands, which may mean the Avengers and Marvel Cosmic (i.e. Guardians of the Galaxy).
Vin Diesel voiced Groot for Marvel in Guardians of the Galaxy as well.
Inhumans has a November 2, 2018 release.
Vin Diesel is back at it again as the actor has just teased Inhumans on his popular Facebook page.
Vin Diesel voiced Groot for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and previously mentioned he was going to be a part of another franchise over a year ago.
When the actor mentioned he was in talks with Marvel for Groot, he also mentioned he was possibly going to be part of a Marvel Studios Phase 3 movie that would be the “merging of brands.”
Marvel Studios recently announced an Inhumans movie for a November 2, 2018 release.
It’s possible the “merging of brands” Vin Diesel was referring to would be the Marvel Cosmic and Marvel Earth characters.
James Gunn recently stated that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 wouldn’t be involved with the Avengers; however, that doesn’t necessarily mean down the road that the two franchises wouldn’t meet.
The Inhumans could be that connection as the characters have been featured as part of both Marvel Cosmic and Marvel Earth.
The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 does hit following Inhumans on May 3, 2019.
Perhaps we’ll see the Inhumans, Avengers and Guardians take on Thanos.
Vin Diesel’s name has been mentioned by fans for Marvel characters more than a few times. Diesel was speculated to be playing Thanos at one time, but now that Josh Brolin is playing the Mad Titan, how about Vin Diesel as Black Bolt?
When Vin Diesel first let it be known he was playing the role of Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, he also teased he would be a part of a new Marvel franchise.
Now, Vin Diesel has seemingly teased Black Bolt, or at least the Inhumans.
Vin Diesel took to his Facebook page to thank Marvel for letting him play Groot, where he mentioned “Inhuman.”
Stan Lee has stated numerous times that Marvel is probably going to do an Inhumans movie.
Here’s the blurb:
Vin and Marvel… you all made it happen!
I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I’m Inhuman… Haha.
Infinity #2 hit today and Hickman provides another fabulous issue!
The final page reveals a big mystery and one that may have to do with the earlier “Is He” teaser.
Spoilers follow for Infinity#2.
Part of the issue takes up where New Avengers #9 left off with Black Bolt summoning the Illuminati.
Black Bolt summons them to a pocket universe where Black Bolt is able to talk.
BB tells the other members of the Illuminati he is going to have a show down with Thanos over the tribute, and hands over the Inhumans secret archive.
Well, what’s the big deal about that?
It’s a big deal because it contains what Thanos wants and the REAL reason Thanos came to Earth!
In the archive is the identity of Thanos‘ son!
And Thanos has come to Earth to kill him!
Infinity #3 hits September 18th, the same day the teaser hints at a big reveal…
(on a side note Marvel canceled the “Thanos: Son of Titan” series, maybe this is why)
Marvel released a new Skottie Young variant cover for Infinity #3 featuring Black Bolt giving Thanos “a talkin’ to.”
Infinity #3 has a September release with the new event seeing the Mad Titan Thanos setting his sights on Earth after The Avengers have gone off planet into deep space seeking assitantance against the The Builders.
Check out the cool Black Bolt cover for Infinity #3 by Adam Kubert. The issue hits in September with the serie seeing Thanos setting his sites on Earth after The Avengers go off planet looking for assitance in their battle against The Builders. Jonathan Hickman is the writer. [[wysiwyg_imageupload:8585:]]
Correct me if I am wrong, but Black Bolt is a member of Hickman’s New Avengers aka The Illuminati, with Captain America as well?
Update: Not Black Bolt, it’s Havok.
Well, from the looks of the following cover to Uncanny Avengers #4, it seems as if Thor is none too happy.
Or all these guys Uncanny Avengers?
Honestly, I’ve lost track.

*Warning: Spoilers* This one poses as a conundrum for me. On one hand, you have Mr. Hickman who basically wipes out the entire War of Kings saga in a few pages (wonder what DnA think about that?), in addition to the FF not showing face — once again. On the other, an interesting and …
King Black Bolt of the Inhumans is back and he’s not at all happy!
Tom Brevoort, Senior Vice President of Publishing of Marvel Comics, let loose the following from his twitter account earlier today:
