Agents Of SHIELD Spinoff In Development

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19970:]]

It’s learned that apparently Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD is doing well enough warrant a spinoff, which more than likely also means a third season is a given.

EW.com reports Marvel is quietly developing the spinoff for ABC which is being developed by Agents Of SHIELD executive producer Jeffrey Bell and SHIELD writer Paul Zbyszewski (LostHawaii Five-0).

It’s said there won’t be a straight-up episode that will create the spinoff (similar to what WB did with Arrow and The Flash), but that this season will have story elements, that are still to come, that will be used to lay the groundwork for the potential new series.

It’s assumed, by the end of the season, the details on the spinoff will be made more clear.

It’s further stated the SHIELD spinoff isn’t guaranteed, as ABC hasn’t even announced a third season for SHIELD, but it’s suggested the spinoff could debut next Fall or mid-season.

Regarding Agent Carter‘s return, the report mentions there is a “60 percent” chance of the series returning.

Roy Thomas Easter Egg In Avengers 2

Update: Article corrected to state Stan Lee confirmed Agent Carter not Ant-Man.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18173:]]

Stan Lee, Roy Thomas and Kevin Smith recently appeared together at a Q&A book signing for Thomas’ new book, 75 Years of Marvel: From the Golden Age to the Silver Screen.

While there, Stan Lee managed to confirm a cameo in the Agent Carter series.

Roy Thomas was also asked about having a potential cameo in a Marvel movie, and while Thomas said he doesn’t have one in The Avengers 2 (Thomas created Ultron), he said Joss Whedon told him there is a reference to him.

Thomas also went on to state he would like to cameo, and joked he and Stan Lee could appear together as father and son. Roy Thomas also stated he isn’t as much of a ham as Lee.

Another interesting question came up regarding Kevin Smith directing comic book movies. While Smith was pretty adamant that he would never direct one, Stan Lee offered to help him with directing a comic book movie and offered to star in it.

Check out the video below for more.

Roy Thomas’ new book can be ordered on Amazon.
