Press Release #1
SUPERMAN: UNBOUND WORLD PREMIERE
FRIDAY, MARCH 29 – 6:00 PM
LEGO BATMAN: THE MOVIE – DC SUPERHEROES UNITE
SCREENING & PANEL – SUNDAY, MARCH 31 – 2:00 PM
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will bookend the WonderCon weekend of March 29-31 in Anaheim with animated film adventures featuring DC Comics’ greatest heroes, first presenting the World Premiere of Superman: Unbound as Friday night’s marquee event, then capping Sunday’s programming with a screening of LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite.
Both presentations will be supported with expansive post-screening panel discussions by cast and filmmakers, autograph opportunities for fans, and interview opportunities for media in attendance.
On Friday, March 29 at 6:00 p.m., fans lucky enough to gain admission to the Anaheim Convention Center’s Arena will witness the World Premiere of Superman: Unbound, the latest DC Universe Animated Original Movie. A destructive force is devastating planets across the galaxy – with Earth next in its sights – and even Superman may not be capable of halting the destruction alone. Based on the Geoff Johns/Gary Frank 2008 DC Comics release “Superman: Brainiac,” the film’s stellar voicecast is led by Matt Bomer (White Collar) as Superman, John Noble (Fringe, The Lord of the Rings films) as Brainiac, Molly Quinn (Castle) as Supergirl and Stana Katic (Castle) as Lois Lane. Quinn will be on hand to lead the post-premiere panel discussion alongside producer/director James Tucker (Justice League, Batman: The Brave and the Bold), screenwriter Bob Goodman (Warehouse 13, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) and eight-time Emmy Award-winning dialogue director Andrea Romano (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns). As always, the panel discussion will include exclusive prizes and some potential glimpses into future DCU animated films by moderator Gary Miereanu. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Superman: Unbound will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, OnDemand and For Download on May 7, 2013.
Prior to the premiere, the Superman: Unbound panelists will sign WonderCon-exclusive mini-posters from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the DC Entertainment booth.
On Sunday, March 31 at 2:00 p.m. in Room 300AB, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will present the first West Coast screening of LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite. The ultimate blend of action and humor guaranteed to entertain fanboys of all ages, LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite finds Lex Luthor taking jealousy to new heights when fellow billionaire Bruce Wayne wins the Man of the Year Award. To top Wayne’s accomplishment, Lex begins a campaign for President – and to create the atmosphere for his type of fear-based politics, he recruits the Joker to perfect a Black LEGO Destructor Ray. While wreaking havoc on Gotham, Lex successfully destroys Batman’s technology – forcing the Caped Crusader to reluctantly turn to Superman for help.
A lively panel discussion will follow the screening featuring TT Animation’s award-winning director/producer Jon Burton and renowned videogame/animation actors Troy Baker (Bioshock Infinite, Batman: Arkham City), Travis Willingham (Avengers Assemble, The Super Hero Squad Show), Christopher Smith (Mortal Combat vs. DC Universe), Charlie Schlatter (Diagnosis Murder) and Laura Bailey (The Super Hero Squad Show). Once again, special prizes will be awarded to a lucky few audience members by moderator Gary Miereanu.
Prior to the screening/panel, LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite panelists will sign WonderCon-exclusive mini-posters from Noon-12:45 p.m. at the DC Entertainment booth.
From TT Animation, creators of the best-selling video game upon which the film is based, LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite will be released May 21, 2013 via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Blu-ray and DVD.

Warner Archive Collection presents
Pulp Heroes of Film & TV
Featuring Ron Ely
Friday, March 29 Panel at WonderCon
Star of ‘Doc Savage: Man of Bronze’ & Tarzan TV Series headlines panel alongside popular WAC Podcast Team;
WAC also hosting Cartoon Extravaganza on Sunday
BURBANK/CA – March 21, 2013 – The Warner Archive Collection swings into WonderCon with a pair of fan-fulfilling presentations, including an appearance by Ron Ely on a panel entitled “Pulp Heroes of Film and TV: Tarzan, Doc Savage, Bomba & More” on Friday, March 29, as well as a special Easter Sunday edition of the cartoon-centric “Saturday Morning Extravaganza.”
Fans will want to arrive early for the 1:00-2:00 pm panel on Friday, March 29 to get a seat for “Warner Archives Collection presents Pulp Heroes of Film and TV: Tarzan, Doc Savage, Bomba & More.” Many timeless, larger-than-life heroes can be traced to the brittle pages of pulp magazines. Some swung from jungle vines, others created lonely fortresses among the polar ice, and still others performed unmatched feats of physical prowess and mental agility. Many of these heroes have leapt from the page to the screens both large and small to invade our dreams and inspire our lives. Ron Ely (Tarzan, Doc Savage: Man of Bronze) and the ever-informed, fan-centric Warner Archives Collection Podcast team of George Feltenstein, Matthew Patterson and Daniel Ferranti will offer the stories behind the stories of rare pulp-inspired television and film releases, including Tarzan, Doc Savage, Bomba and more. The panel will take place in Room 207BCD.
Immediately following the panel, Mr. Ely will sign autographs (at no charge) from 2:15-3:00 pm in the Warner Archives Collection booth (#279). DVDs of Mr. Ely’s films and TV series will be available at the booth.
On Sunday, March 31, from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, cartoons from the past several decades will be celebrated and discussed during “Warner Archives Collection presents the Saturday Morning Extravaganza.” Most children of the pre-internet TV-era carry the rituals surrounding Saturday Morning TV close to their hearts. Animation expert Jerry Beck and the Warner Archive Collection Podcast team will present an array of rare and wonderful animated (and maybe a few live-action) releases culled from the Hanna-Barbera, Rankin-Bass and Warner Bros. library of Saturday morning classics. Pre-discussion cold cereal will not be provided, but amazement will be in abundance. Comfortable sleepwear is strongly encouraged. The panel will take place in Room 213AB.
