Russell Crowe is set to play Jor-El in the Zack Snyder directed Man of Steel movie with new Superman, Henry Cavill, this Summer.
Previously, we’ve heard some bits and pieces of news and rumors about epic scenes taking place on Krypton that might even involve a war of some sorts, and now Russell Crowe describes more of that cosmic setting.
Speaking with ReelzChannel in the following video, Crowe offers that, “It’s a massive undertaking. The types of sets and things that we’ve worked on in the film were incredible. It takes you actually on the ground to Krypton. It takes you to a planet where the sun is four times larger than ours and you get to experience that stuff.”
“So I think people are going to love it,” Crowe continues. “And if you’ve seen the trailers and stuff they’ve done, you realize that this Superman is not just floating through the air held up by a wire. I mean this Superman is supersonic. When he decides to fly, he doesn’t muck around.”
Russell Crowe also mentions that the Man of Steel will delve into the psychological aspect of being a super man amongst men as well as what an undertaking it was for director Zack Snyder. Crowe even says that a big indicator for him that the movie will do well is that Legendary Entertainment’s Thomas Tull is really excited about the movie, having sent him “gushing e-mails.”
“He just loves it and thinks its going to go down really well.” Crowe said.
