UPDATE: Three weeks in, Supergirl has fallen to last place on Nielsen’s streaming chart.
The actual Supergirl streaming numbers are in, and they explain why Warner Bros. never announced any.
Supergirl pulled in the equivalent of 2.8 million complete views in its first four days on HBO Max in the US, per Nielsen data in a chart making the rounds on Reddit.
That launch comes in behind The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Black Adam.
Nielsen’s “views” are simple: count every minute Americans watched, divide by the movie’s runtime, and you get the number of complete watches.

How The Other DC Movies Started On HBO Max
Black Adam did 5.1 million over its first weekend on the service.

Superman passed Supergirl‘s entire opening stretch inside three days and finished its charted run at 10.4 million.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom reached 9 million and Blue Beetle hit 5.9 million.
The Flash landed at 5.2 million, and Shazam: Fury of the Gods finished at 4.5 million.
The Flash and Blue Beetle are the movies that helped bury the old DCEU. Supergirl is starting below both.

Still No. 1, Still Beating A Chart Full Of Old Movies
The number lands with Supergirl still sitting at No. 1 on FlixPatrol’s HBO Max movie chart, where fan sites have spent two weeks calling it a streaming sensation.
CBR laughably went as far as crowning it the “single biggest cash cow” in HBO Max’s movie catalog this year.
However, look at what it is beating.
The latest FlixPatrol top ten under Supergirl is filled out by catalog titles like The Last Samurai from 2003, Leon: The Professional from 1994, The 5th Wave from 2016, and Band of Brothers from 2001.
As we previously told you when the movie first topped the chart, FlixPatrol ranks titles against each other. It does not count viewers. When the alternative is a decades-old Tom Cruise movie, the newest release wins the chart automatically.
That’s not cash cow, that’s Supergirl on top of a garbage pile.
Nielsen counts viewers, and the count has Supergirl starting behind the DC movies everyone already agreed were flops.

Warner Bros.’ Own Number Crunchers Already Called It
Per Deadline, the people most upset inside Warner Bros. are on the home entertainment and data analytics teams, where staffers say DC Studios “chose the wrong comic book character to adapt.”
Those are the people whose job is reading exactly these kinds of numbers and they’re worried they will be fired by Paramount because of Supergirl‘s failure.
The movie left theaters in 40 days as the lowest-grossing DC movie of all time, with a projected theatrical loss of roughly $244 million, and it got named when WBD studio profits crashed 89 percent in the second quarter, with James Gunn and Peter Safran deemed the biggest losers of 2026.
Streaming was the last place left for a turnaround story. The first stretch of Nielsen data says it is not coming.
Next up is Man of Tomorrow, where the rumor is that Milly Alcock’s Supergirl will be sidelined in the marketing.
The Superman sequel opens July 9, 2027.
Warner Bros. staffers said DC chose the wrong character. Now they have a number to point at, exactly proving their point.
