Stephen King in talks to write AMC’s The Walking Dead

picWith Frank Darabont letting go of the entire writing staff at the end of the first season of Robert Kirkman and AMC’s The Walking Dead, he sure needed someone to take on the hit zombie show.

Why not the king of horror – Stephen King?

Furthermore, how about Stephen King’s son, Joe Hill, who has his own upcoming TV series on Fox with Locke & Key, co-writing?

Entertainment Weekly confirms King is in talks with AMC to do just that – pen an episode.

The horror novelist told EW, that Darabont “has expressed enthusiastic interest for season 2 or possibly 3.”

So how did Stephen King’s name get thrown into the mix?

Darabont directed four of King’s films including The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Mist and the short film The Woman in the Room.
