At the premiere for Skeleton Crew, Dave Filoni offers an update on Ahsoka Season 2, confirming it is definitely happening.
Reports have offered the second season will film next year.
A rumor has even claimed that Disney and Lucasfilm are prepping to end the series after Season 2.
What does Dave Filoni say about Ahsoka Season 2?
Extra TV caught up with Filoni, who also serves as the executive vice president and chief creative officer of Lucasfilm who also said he is excited for The Mandalorian & Grogu movie.
“I’m so well into that as well… I’ve been writing it, and I’m still the single writer on it, and so I’ve been enjoying doing that, but it’s a challenge, of course, and working some of these arcs through has been a challenge and making sure it’s all going to come out in a way that I think is exciting for fans,” he said.
Filoni added, “I know that they’re interested in where some of the things I developed in Season 1. I’m pretty happy with it… Love working with Rosario [Dawson], so I can’t wait to get back to that.”
What is Ahsoka about?
Ahsoka Season 1 followed the former Jedi, Ahsoka Tano, as she sought to stop Grand Admiral Thrawn from returning to power, which would spell disaster for the galaxy.
Teaming up with Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla, Ahsoka uncovers a mysterious map leading to Thrawn’s hidden location, as well as the lost Jedi, Ezra Bridger. The journey takes them to a distant galaxy, where they face off against Thrawn’s loyal allies, including the dark Force users Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati.
Along the way, Ahsoka confronts her past, gains new wisdom, and strengthens her bond with Sabine. The season ends with Thrawn escaping to the main galaxy, Ezra returning home, and Ahsoka and Sabine stranded in the new galaxy, setting up a major conflict for the future of the Star Wars universe.
