At the recent New York Comic-Con fans were offered a quick peek at the cover to the new prequel comic book from IDW Publishing for Star Trek Into Darkness, titled: Star Trek Countdown To Darkness.

Now IDW has released their solicits for the month of January and we get the full cover as well as the description and credits.

Star Trek writer and producer Bob Orci has written the story with Mike Johnson on as the writer for the comic and David Messina on art.

Star Trek Into Darkness has a May 17th, 2013 release date in 3D, is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Leonard “Bones” McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu and Benedict Cumberbatch as an unnamed villain.
