Paramount recently announced that 9 minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness footage would run in front of the December 14th IMAX premiere of The Hobbit.
Not to leave those movie goers who prefer to watch their movies the “old-fashioned” way out of all the fun and excitement, J.J. Abrams first Stark Trek Into Darkness trailer will run in the non-IMAX theaters, attached to the 2D premiere of The Hobbit — with new footage that is different than the IMAX footage.
So basically if you want to see the complete Star Trek Into Darkness footage, you will have to see The Hobbit in IMAX and the regular version.
The info comes from TrekMovie who also offers that the trailer is a full trailer and not a teaser trailer.
It’s also stated the opening sequence preview will not be made online as well.
Three other trailers are said to be featured with The Hobbit as well, including the Man of Steel, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim, and Bryan Singer’s Jack The Giant Slayer.
Star Trek Into Darkness has a May 17th, 2013 release date in 3D, is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Leonard “Bones” McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu and Benedict Cumberbatch as an unnamed villain.
