[[wysiwyg_imageupload:3031:]]We recently learned that the new title for J.J. Abrams upcoming Star Trek sequel will be titled “Star Trek Into Darkness,” and now John Cho, who plays Sulu, has spoken about the movie.

As we’ve heard from previous actors, Star Trek Into Darkness will be a rather large story, to which Cho comments with something similar, and in doing so, Cho also gives us a clue that the movie is going to delve right into it.

“I think this movie is different from the first one in that we can get started on the story right away,” John Cho tells IGN. “It feels to me — having read it and having done it — like a more expansive story because we can devote more screen time to it.”

Cho also notes how it was working with newcomers Benedict Cumberbatch and Alice Eve on the set of Star Trek 2, with Cumberbatch being the film’s as-of-yet unnamed villain.

“They’re whip-smart, amazing people. They’re so good, such good actors. Having said that, they blended in right away. They were right there giving us s**t back and forth. It was a lot of fun,” he said.

“It’s very special to come back to something like that. I think we got closer than we did on the first one even because we had that thing going. It was a lot of fun. I think the second one may be magnificent, baby. You can quote me on that. I think it may be amazing.”

Star Trek Into Darkness has a May 17th, 2013 release date in 3D, is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Leonard “Bones” McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu and Benedict Cumberbatch as an unnamed villain.
